Owners. We just came out from the train and it was raining a lot so we decided to stay there. Place is less than 1km from railway station. We were cold and wet so owners asked us if we want to eat soup. It was very big plate of very delicious soup. And it was cheap. We could watch eurocup games also. Mallnitz is a great place for waling in the mountains and e-biking. It has a lovely atmosphere and we would definitely stay again in hotel Kaerntnerhof with its homely atmosphere. There is a well equipped sport shop where you can buy anything you need for walking and they also rent e-bikes. A small walk from the center there is a large supermarket to buy what you need for the day.

Mallnitz is a picturesque small and beautiful alpine town.

Mallnitz is a picturesque small and beautiful alpine town. Once it was very important because of "Auto-Schleuse" train that brought cars under Tauern mountain ridge, through the tunnel, from Salzburger Land to Kaernten, and vice versa. More than 500 000 cars were transported that way each year, but today - because of the Tauern Autobahn - the number is around 100 000. Also, there is a nice skiing area in the near vicinity, the Ankogel. But, because other, more modern skiing facilities that were built in the meantime, also nearer to today's autoroutes, Mallnitz is not so busy anymore. Still, it has everything: from small pastry shops to restaurants, hotels and ski equipment shops. Small town square is pretty as well as fast stream that runs through town center. There is plenty of possibilities in Mallnitz for recreation: besides Ankogel ski area, there are "Langlauf", trekking and sledding trails, as well as public swimming pool (heated and closed) with wellness center and tennis courts. Everathing is first class.

A wonderful small village in the Austrian Alps.

A wonderful small village in the Austrian Alps. Just a 3 min car ride / or a longer walk away, you find a lovely area to hike and walk around in the nature. Die Ankogelbahn is also very close. the entire area is great and full of activaties and generous natural sceneries. I can only recommend the entire Hohe Tauern National Park.

Definitely worth visiting. So far we were there only in the winter and it offers many interesting and fun activities but surely it is lovely during all other seasons too. The village itself is small but it has everything you might need during your stay

Is a small town in a beautiful neighborhood, the area offers great excursions all year round. Its railway connection is organized according to Austria's professionalism. Billa grocery store locally. A smaller disappointment was for us the narrow selection of restaurants and pubs that opened was.

Beautiful house, old austrian style (we like it), nice rooms, comfortable beds, nice balcony, great location in the beautiful little town of Mallnitz! Great host, everything was quick and clear regarding our stay. We recieved a nice booklet about the surrounding areas, and also the big thing included in our stay was the Kärtnen Card, which provides a lot of free access to a lot of stuff (like surrounding gondola rides). This is a nice touch. Alltogether a lovely stay. And the price is unbeatable!

The host is a very lovely lady, she even made us second coffee for breakfast :) The location of the hotel and the hotel itself, it is an old building with lots of old authentic furniture that gives the place the lovely vibe The room was warm and we needed the warm when we were escaping horrific wind situation so we were very happy with this place :)
