We loved everything about Gasthof Maria Plain! We had no idea where it was located in relationship to Salzburg, but we had admired the church from the road as we came in. Imagine our surprise when we saw we were going up that hill towards the church. Parking was easy & convenient. The second surprise is that the hotel had its own charming Christmas market. The rooms were clean & comfortable, & every room had a breathtaking view. The fact that we arrived after a big snow storm just added to the beauty. It was a short & inexpensive cab ride to central Salzburg. The restaurant had a good menu, great food & reasonable prices. Breakfast was very nice. The staff were very friendly & helpful. We will be back next spring!

Beautiful interiors, spacious room, decorated in old style, large bed with canopy and clean linen. Very good breakfast, lots of choice, also gluten free. Coffee from the coffee machine also with soya milk. It was nice to stay in a stylish interior. Excellent location for an overnight stay going to Italy for skiing and returning.

Very good location, near the highway. The place is well maintained, clean and neat. Very beautiful, modern room, comfortable bed. Staff were very friendly and helpful. A wonderful, chic hotel located just a 10-minute walk from the train station and 20 minutes from Domplatz via a stunning promenade along the Salzach River. We stayed in a lovely double room with exceptionally comfortable beds. Both the room and bathroom were spotless, and the walk-in shower was one of the best I’ve ever used. The view from our window of the Maria Himmelfahrt Church with the Alps in the background, was absolutely breathtaking. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and we also enjoyed the modern and cozy lounge. Without a doubt, we’ll stay here again on our next trip to Salzburg!
