FAQs about hotels in Brisbane

Sun-drenched & Leafy

At the meeting point of Australia’s Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast, laid-back Brisbane is spread around the meandering river running through it. The river’s artsy South Bank is home to Australia’s largest modern art gallery, tranquil gardens and an artificial beach. Just across the river is the towering skyline of Brisbane's central business district, the location of many hotels in central Brisbane.

Nearby are the botanic gardens and Queen Street Mall, the most popular Brisbane shopping spot. There are more shopping centers all over the city, and the out-of-town malls include one in the Indooroopilly suburb by the foothills of Mount Coot-tha.

This green hill offers fabulous city views and has a planetarium, nature reserve and yet more botanic gardens. In Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary to the south, you can hug one of the lovable animals, while Australia Zoo – Steve Irwin’s legacy – is a good day trip.

Brisbane is a very leafy city and one of its parks, Wickham Park, contains the Old Windmill, Brisbane’s oldest building. To the northeast, the Fortitude Valley suburb is known for its vibrant music scene and Chinatown. Across the river in Woolloongabba is The Gabba or Brisbane Cricket Ground, and nearby is the bohemian West End district.

Booking.com has plenty of downtown hotels, and other accommodations near Brisbane Airport in a northeastern coastal suburb.

What Guests Said About Brisbane:

Great shops and selection of good food.

Great shops and selection of good food. Great quality, easy to get around transport always available and reasonably priced. The gallery of modern art GOMA is very good and well worth a visit, as is the Queensland museum. If I had time I would have gone to the guided walking tour at the botanical gardens and visited the planetarium next door for one of the shows.

Brisbane? Too much to like.

Brisbane? Too much to like. Has the feeling of a small country town, but all the amenities of a thriving city. And, of course, it’s in Queensland!!! where the weather is always warm and the skies are always blue and the sun never stops shining.

LOVE BRISBANE!

LOVE BRISBANE! Coming from Melbourne and having always visited the Gold Coast, I was not sure what to expect but I absolutely loved the atmosphere of the city. I felt safe as a lone female traveler and the food that was on offer was outstanding. If shopping is your thing, Brisbane has you covered from high end stores to budget friendly. The markets were also amazing with a good mix of items to buy or food to try. I will definitely be back!

I love all the spots along the Brisbane River you can visit (parks/gardens & dining/shopping) using the City Cat or the smaller Ferries. The riverside paths for pedestrians/bikes/scooters etc are also superb.

Location, location, location. We could walk everywhere in the city from Central Station 20mins, to QPAC in Southbank for a show 40mins and round the Brisbane River for exercise 7km in 1.5hour. Staff all very friendly and helpful. Great view of the river from our room. Bed was very comfortable, large bathroom, nice amenities, towels and linens. Pool was heated as was the spa. Nice size gym and great sauna - none of it crowded or to busy yet the hotel was very busy with Riverfire, Whisky event and a wedding.

The location was perfect, surrounded by different restaurants, not far from the airport and the city or Fortitude Valley. Perfect place to chill. The bed was so comfortable, the pillows were so comfortable, as many hotels that's one thing that I find is not so comfortable. A very friendly neighborhood. The check in and out of the hotel was without any fuzz and was so easy to do. The apartments were peaceful and relaxing. Loved it.
