We caught the train to Canberra then a coach link to Cooma.
We caught the train to Canberra then a coach link to Cooma. We got off the bus and were so happy to see the town of Cooma. There was plenty of shops and cafes as well as within walking distance from the Motel. We were going there to visit the snowy mountains and had made reservations for the Cooma coaches to transport us to the snow slopes each day. That was easy! On a budget the whole trip was so enjoyable and I cant wait to do it all again!

Beautiful Town, a visit to Mount Gladstone early morning to see the district and some snow.
The fantastic Correctional Facility Museum crammed with a lot of information, run well by the delightful staff there.
Raglan Gallery
I missed going to Charles Davis gallery which is something to do next time. Great breakfast at 123 Cafe. Lunch with a friend at the Ex-servicemen's club ...delicious food and very friendly staff.
The drive to Cooma is also delightful. I would like to have done the Railway museum but it is open on Tuesdays Wednesdays and Saturdays (next time). A shame the rail is still not operating ...Love Cooma...so much more to do.

Good stop over town or place to stretch your legs.
Good stop over town or place to stretch your legs. Has a lovely historic town walk, great cafes, bakery and the pub is good too. Some good clothes shops, craft shops. Not to forget the historic Cooma Gaol is still in use. A picnic on the Murrumbidgee River and walk along the river is always worth it.

Cooma has a beautiful park right at the shopping centre.
Cooma has a beautiful park right at the shopping centre. There is an abundance shops selling everything one could need or wish for. There are many good places to eat from snack level to three course meals. We always enjoy Roses…..a mix of Lebanese and other Mediterranean food.

Town itself was average; Pub meal was $160 for 2 adults and a teenager and was average too. The town itself was missing a lot of shops and nothing really to look at or do, we would never stop here again and there are better service towns in better locations.

We paid for a superior king suite and got a basic small room...
We paid for a superior king suite and got a basic small room with a king bed which took up the whole room. I could not reach the hotplate or the microwave I am 155cm and it was unsafe to stand on a chair. Very disappointed that the restaurant was not operating and the bar not licensed.

We had a fantastic stay at Apartment Picasso in Cooma. The place was clean, comfortable, and very well-equipped. The bedrooms were cozy, and the kitchen had everything we needed with complete cookware available for use. Accessing the property was straightforward, and the location couldn’t be better—just a short walk to the shops and everything you need. It’s a great base for anyone visiting the area, and I’d definitely stay here again. Highly recommended!

Very well presented guest house. We enjoyed the living area, generously stocked kitchen, and private outdoor area. The hosts were very accommodating and communicative and made entry and our entire stay very smooth. Fresh sheets and towels were well presented and appreciated by our group. Will definitely stay here again on our next trip to Cooma, highly recommended.

Great value for money. Staff very friendly. Beds comfortable. Little things like full Toiletries with toothbrush, good selection of teas. Something we don't usually get on some big chain budget hotels like holiday inn express. Highly recommend for anyone needing a pit stop like us.
