New ZealandThe Empire was much lovelier than we were expecting, staff were friendly and welcoming without being overbearing, room was clean and had everything we needed including an extra heater. Having a tea and coffee area with a fridge and breakfast room available was also really handy to relax in, breakfast itself was simple self serve but had good continental options. Location is perfect right in the centre of Deloraine. And to top it off our dinner at the Empire was delicious, great options (something a bit different as well as pub fare) and really good value. Would absolutely stay again!

We especially liked that we were free to use the common rooms and facilities and to help ourselves to drinks and snacks - making it feel like it was our manor for a day! The room upgrade so that our rooms could be close together was a very pleasant and appreciated surprise. Had a nice time chatting with the host as well. Even the history and heritage of the building were interesting - read about the property itself and its artworks in books scattered throughout the property. =)

When we came back at night we saw all sorts of wildlife (one of the reasons for coming to Tasmania) and everything we could want was included. The lovely mix of old and new was set just right and we could want for nothing more.

The hotel is an old Hotel but really looked after with all the facilities needed.
The bed was super comfortable, large and new with an electric blanket. The bathroom spotless.
Tea and coffee available for free in the large dining room.
Dinner in the dining room a good menu.
I would stay here again and recommend to anyone.

Quaint country town that many locals obviously care about as it is clean and beautifully presented. Old historical buildings blended with lots of interesting art. Magnificent huge trees and displays of native plants along the river walk. We watched a platypus on the river right in the heart of the town! Lots of cute old fashioned feeling shops and cafes. RV facilities right on the river.

A lovely country town with many historic homes and buildings. Quaint main street that curls around a hill with a great assortment of shops, cafes, pubs, art gallery etc. A beautiful river meanders through the town and you might even catch sight of a platypus. The locals were all very friendly and our meal at “The Empire Hotel” was delicious. Lots to see and do in the area. Would love to have stayed longer.

Lots of great shops ,lovely friendly people .Go to the Visitors Centre and be blown away by the Huge 4 x 3 1/2 metre silk,wool cotton lace threads leather etc murals of the district done in 3D they are simply stunning and the folk museum with it all is well displayed .

This was our second stay at Deloraine in the last 4 years.
This was our second stay at Deloraine in the last 4 years. Last time we explored the area by visiting places including Mole Creek, Sheffield & Liffey Falls. This visit we found the Great Western Tiers Visitor Centre located in Deloraine and spent a few hours there viewing the amazing 'Yarns Artwork in Silk' display, reading all about the area's horse racing history and walking around the Pioneer Village. We also did the Deloraine river walk (and watched a platypus for a while) and we did the guided tours of both the Mole Creek caves.

Deloraine was a great central place to stay to visit cradle mountain, Devonport an Launceston. So many great places to visit in the surrounding area - especially for kids.
The town had great shops and lots of places to eat.

We loved the location of Drumreagh Cabins. Close to Deloraine but far enough out of town to be quiet. The cabin is lovely and had everything we needed. It was brilliant to have a laundry that was stocked with powder so we could catch up on washing. The kitchen is great and the breakfast items were perfect. We appreciated the cooking items and glad wrap etc as well as with a two night stay we didn’t have to buy extra items.

This is a beautiful house located just on the outskirts of Deloraine in a beautiful location where you can hear the sounds of the bush and the neighbouring farms. The house is of the highest quality as is everything in it. It is so well located to do many day trips. It is a must stay.Such lovely hosts. Don't forget to admire the artwork painted by the hosts. The best.

The location is lovely. The gardeners cottage is in the grounds of a large manor house. It is a short 5-10 minute walk to the centre of Deloraine. The cottage is well appointed with all you could need to self cater. There are several places to eat in town but some close on mondays and tuesdays.

A little surprise gem in the centre of Deloraine. The Quamby room was lovely and very comfortable with private bathroom. A separate room to make yourself a delightful continental breakfast and tea/coffee.
Dinner in the cafe downstairs was delicious and the staff were so friendly.

It was surprisingly quiet at night for a pub,it was close to the shopping centre and a short drive to the Deloraine craft fair that we went to specifically to see.
