After a cold rainy day at Cradle Mountain, this was the perfect place to relax for the night! The room was warm and there was bread, butter, noodles etc. for us to use! Can’t recommend staying at The Old Wilmot Bakehouse enough!

the rooms are small cabins that are really neatly designed and very spacious with a queen and a single bed each, separate bathroom and lounge area with balcony. There is no TV in the rooms so prepare to have conversations in the evening ;-) There is pademelon feeding in the evening behind the main building. There was a good game room in the main building with pool billiard ;-)

I don't normally just tick all the "excellent" boxes but this establishment deserves it. Beautiful house in a lovely setting with all facilities provided. And a really good breakfast! The murals in Sheffield were wonderful and the food at the RSL was very good value.

It was a lovely quiet rural locational as a base to explore the area. A car is necessary however if you like out of the way places this is excellent. The roads are narrow and windy, but so is a lot of Tasmania. Traffic is light and the pastoral and forests views are stunning.

The cottage was in a lovely setting, in the middle of a big grassy paddock. It was very clean and comfortable inside, with a well stocked kitchen and comfortable beds. The air conditioning and electric blankets were much appreciated as it was cold when we visited. Our host, Alison, was very helpful with directions to the property and even made us croissants one morning for breakfast. The internet signal is a bit variable but this is a plus in some ways as it gives you a rest from the world. I would highly recommend this property.

A delightful cottage.. peaceful and quiet surroundings. Interesting history to the cottage and farm. Warm and cosy ( which was good, seeing it was freezing in November). Hostess Allison was very helpful and obliging. Very highly recommended.

Excellent accommodation in great location. Scenery was enjoyable with sheep and cattle grazing with a backdrop of plantations and mountains. Plenty of history on display with a lot of literature on the subject, Host/s were fantastic and very knowledgeable. Perfect for a quiet and relaxing getaway.

Lovely views from roads with lots of mountain scenery.

Lovely views from roads with lots of mountain scenery. There are also waterfalls and forest tracks for all grades. Lots of wildlife and bird species. Bring your own food as there are no shops or cafes in the area but several places within a reasonable drive.
