We booked into the Rec hotel for a hot air ballooning experience. We spent about $300 over the bar. Our main meals were disappointing. I ordered garlic prawns ($27ish) 6 beautifully cooked prawns beside maybe 1/4 cup of fluffy rice and best guess 2 tablespoons of garlic sauce. All components were awesome but together, not enough sauce
Entrees size for.main meal price.

Northam has a lot to offer for tourists.
Northam has a lot to offer for tourists. Aboriginal history information as well as European settler information. Set on the River Avon there is the annual Avon River descent in August when the river should be at its fullest for the adventurous to test their skills in various water activities. Good base for exploring the Wheatbelt area. Dome Coffee House attached to the Farmers Home Hotel makes for good relaxing drinks and all meals.

Northam is a lovely small town, locater within easy driving distance of the historic towns, Toodyay and York.
An hour or so drive from the city of Perth makes it an ideal place to stay and just commute into the city.

Northam is easy to navigat around and locals were very willing to provide advice if there was something we were unable to find.
There is plenty of coffee shops and food providers to cater for most visitors and there was no waiting for a table when seeking meals.
For the traveller seeking antiques there is an excellent large display in the main street that takes considerable time to check out all that are on display.
The weather while we were there was exxcellent for touring with evenings mild and day temps mid 30 degrees.

A beautiful Town, not far out of Perth.
A beautiful Town, not far out of Perth. Historic buildings, lovely river and a fabulous Cultural Museum.
Give yourself a couple of hours to go through the Museum - it's truly worth it. Set inside a beautiful modern building direct on the river front.
The river itself is a treat. Has an abundance of bird life and a lovely walking path alongside. Cross a pedestrian bridge to get to the other side as well.
There's a great cafe on the Town side (next to the museum), beautiful location to overlook the scenery.
Just outside of Northam, on the way to Toodyay are some painted grain silos. Definitely worth a look!
Once you've arrived in Northam, the Town is very walkable/rideable.
There are plenty of pubs with character, to stop and enjoy a drink. Pub crawl on foot a true possibility!
A quiet peaceful Town, with clean fresh air.

The accommodation spoilt my entire birthday, looked over the room for 5 minutes then left immediately and returned to Perth. What a waste of time fuel and a birthday.
Never ever again!! False advertising!! What a rip off

The property was clean and newly renovated. Beautiful old building with convenience of modern touches. Good restaurants inside the building and kind staffs. Well heated rooms throughout the night. Good location for ballooning and town amenities nearly. Possibly the fanciest stay in Northam!
The service was excellent. Had a hiccup on check-in, room wasn't ready so was given an upgraded room and some vouchers for the hotel. Really pleased with the way the situation was dealt with.
The chalet rooms are lovely.
