Uralla is an attractive small town with an excellent museum focussing on local history staffed by very knowledgeable volunteers. Next to the museum is a well-stocked shop offering a wide variety of locally made goods. Thunderbolt‘s grave, Gostwyk church and a historic woodshed are nearby points of interest. The town itself looks very well-maintained with attractive shops, cafes and pubs lining the main road.
Add on Armidale for another day or three, ensuring to time your visit around guided tours of the Saumarez Homestead. The historic bus tour organised by the tourist information office is also very good. Armidale Regional Art Museum is worth a visit and the galettes offered by the French-Style Cafe Patisserie make a welcome change to the run-of-the-mill burgers dominating menus across the country.

We always break our journey in Uralla.
We always break our journey in Uralla. The shops are interesting and we enjoy taking a walk around the town. This time we visited the lagoon and did some bird watching and photography. Previously we have taken the gold mining trail which is great. The Alternate Root is our favourite place for breakfast.

Very friendly shop people.. pies were great.
Very friendly shop people.. pies were great. The BP service station served excellent pork chops, veges and chips. As well as steak sandwiches and toasted sandwiches. The motorbike repair shop owner was friendly and a good bloke. The Bolt Hotel/motel served THE BEST RUMP STEAK WITH MUSHROOM / STEAK DIANNE SAUCE AND SALAD . Way better than Maitland restaurants. Call in and enjoy the meals and service. Uralla is great.

Nice country town, twenty km outside Armidale.
Nice country town, twenty km outside Armidale. Everything seems pristine with tidy streets and great amenities. The cafe we ate in diagonally across from the pub was excellent, and there was a craft pie bakery down the street that also had yummy looking donuts, lamingtons and croissants.

Euralla is the true country town stay with Armidale just up the road. it was nice to be in a little country town as opposed to staying in a larger city like Arimidale. Yet we went to Armidale for dinner at the Tattersalls Hotel. Amazing food and a great experience. Then we ventured home to our cozy accommodation in Euralla. There are some lovely boutiques and cafes. Definitely worth the trip.

This Cottage was absolutely amazing. This host goes above & beyond to provide a comfortable cottage with everything you need! She even provides gourmet breakfast supplies, homemade bread and delicious homemade Anzacs! It's rare to get this sort of service these days! Love the rural location just 5 minutes out of Uralla and a lovely view. The cottage was warm and comfortable. We enjoyed watching out for the colourful parrots in the tree outside and gave them some of the birdseed supplied. Would love to come back one day!

The hotel is located in the centre of town with off street parking. We stayed in a room with a private bathroom. The accommodation has been recently renovated and looks lovely. At the time we stayed the downstairs hotel area is still being renovated, but should be great when all completed. Comfortable bed and quiet room, especially as it faces the highway.
