Geel has a rich and varied history.
Geel has a rich and varied history. There was fierce World War Two fighting here a prelude to the massive Airborne operation, the subject of the film "A Bridge too Far". On the other hand the town pioneered the care of the mentally ill in the community as opposed to institutions about 150 years ago. Everything clean and well equipped. Great breakfast with lots of nice options. Perfect location near the Geel central square but not directly on it, so it's quieter.
