Wow, we booked on line for a place in the Belgium country side as we are making our way south to Florence. We picked a cheaper remote hotel expecting the average. When we arrived we found an upmarket historic property situated just outside a quaint village and set beside the most amazing stream. After settling into our comfortable room we went down to the the beautiful lounge area beside a stone fire place. Outside the sounds of the stream set a magic environment to enjoy a glass of local red wine and cheese. We then went to the restaurant where we enjoyed a perfectly cooked steak and vegetables, with fresh salad and hot crisp chips. Perfect. So good was our stay we decided to book and additional night. If you are a hiker or just enjoy life and love good living here is your place

Breakfast was amazing! Lots of options and the owners were very kinds asking if we wanted another coffee, tea etc. The products they use are local products and they even asked us at what time we would like to have breakfast :)

Lovely hotel in a rural location. As a small group of motorcyclists we stayed here while touring. The staff were extremely helpful and even offered to let us put the bikes in their garage. The rooms were all very clean with nice bathrooms and beds are super comfy. Due its rural location we opted to eat in the restaurant in the evening and the food was extremely good and worth the 2 courses for 35 euros price. All the staff spoke good English which helped with our basic GCSE French. The hotel has its own bar with a good selection of local beers, etc.

Both Guido and his wife are friendly hosts, making you feel nothing is too much trouble. The auberge has outdoor seating both front and back of the property, offering sun or shade for a quiet drink of beer. Guido is a marvellous chef, I would be the size of a house if I had stayed longer. I was on a motorbike and was offered the use of their garage for overnight parking.

We are frequent travellers and honestly: this place is just wonderful. Discrete luxury without the frills. Location is top - some of the cutest villages surrounding. Close to a little village w good food and local delicacies; but still exclusive and outside, secluded among the trees and with a magnificent view on the valley and mountains. The hosts - and their cute dogs, rabbits, cats, and donkeys - are lovely and present whenever you need them. The facilities were 100 pct: the house was spacious, tastefully decorated and calm; the huge swimming pool which we mostly had to ourselves to the delight of the kids; a huge outside areas where the kids were safe and happy playing on the premises. We mostly cooked ourselves so can even vouch for the functionality of the fully-equipped kitchen.

The apartment itself is certainly not bad, but once again, the smart TV is a big disappointment, especially if the weather is bad, you really have nothing to keep yourself occupied with, especially in the evening.

Beautifully restored house, very tastefully decorated.

Beautifully restored house, very tastefully decorated. A lovely winter fireplace. The wall decor is a bit minimalist; some nice photos would brighten things up. The kitchen is very well equipped. The downstairs bedroom is a bit cold, ideal during a heatwave but a little chilly when it's raining.
