Excellent rooms, very well designed and decorated (even the smoke detector had a special design) and all facilities were in place. It is a very new hotel but all was running smoothly. They put a lot of thought in the rooms and hotel and the staff carry the pleasant vibe as well. Warmly recommended.

The Queen of the Belgian Sea-side Resorts

Located in the Flemish province of West Flanders, the city of Ostend (or Oostende) is the biggest on the Belgian coast. This cosmopolitan seaside resort has long sandy beaches, a modern harbour and magnificent fish restaurants.  

Built in September 1905 in the presence of King Leopold II, the imposing Roman Catholic Neo-Gothic church of Saint Peter and Saint Paul is the symbol of Oostende. Housed in a former department store built by Gaston Eysselinck, Ostend's Museum of Modern Art has an interesting collection of contemporary Belgian works.

The Oostende Railway Station is a gorgeous building between the Marina and the Vissers Kaai, featuring classical style architecture. Leaving the railway station you will find a stunning fishing market with numerous fish stands selling mussels, crabs and herrings.

Wander around the promenade and visit one of the traditional restaurants to enjoy Dover Sole, shrimp croquettes and tomatoes filled with shrimps. Booking.com has lots of hotels, apartments and holiday homes by the North Sea. 

Situated in a strategic position, the beautiful destination of Ostend is 1 hour away from Brussels and is accessible by train. The Ostend-Bruges International Airport serves a big variety of destinations, including regions on the Mediterranean Coast and Canary Islands.

An insufficiency of EV charge points from major EV charge companies, so travellers not subscribed to the local providers will struggle to use the majority of charge points provided by local companies with language specific websites and no recognition of multi-provider RFID cards to start EV charging sessions.

Probably not the destination that springs to mind, but...

Probably not the destination that springs to mind, but Ostend is well worth a trip. An ideal base to explore the coast, being in the middle of the coastal tram route. The city itself is great, with the beach and harbour. You can stroll along the prom, watch the seals and birds, or just sit in a cafe on the front. Loads of good restaurants in the centre too as well as shops. Some nice parks in town or head along the coast on the tram.

Beach was clean and there was plenty of space.

Beach was clean and there was plenty of space. It would have been better to stay nearer the town centre as our apartment was to far to walk. There is also a dog beach which was a bonus. Resturants and cafes were expensive.

Ostend is a wonderful city.

Ostend is a wonderful city. I lived here in the past and keep coming back. Some parts of Ostend feel and look not typical Belgian, you feel like you're being in south Europe instead of in Belgium.

Nice places to visit in the city, plenty of restaurants and shops. Sea side is very good and well maintained, very clean. Easy to move around, Tram and train station, all usable with your bank card. Usually plenty of carpark places all over the city. We drove around from here to other city's like Bruge and Ghent and it was fast and it is amazing how they kept the speed limits quite high even in the city. Well done Belgium.

Ostende was out of control on the 1. May

Ostende was out of control on the 1. May Too many people everywhere, the traffic was saturated, police and ambulances driving forth and back. The days after, it was calm and you could profit from the stay.

The family room (two double rooms, each with their own bathroom, and a connecting door) was very comfortable and quiet. The hotel is in a great location - a seven-minute walk from Ostend station and a five-minute walk to the beach. The breakfast room was very nice and bright. Staff were friendly and helpful.
