This is an excellent hotel with a very nice multi lingual...

This is an excellent hotel with a very nice multi lingual host. For cyclists it’s a great base for exploring, arguably the world capital of cycling, Flanders. The Gent Wevelgem in Flanders Fields classic starts and finishes nearby, as well as passing close to the hotel. West Flanders, Oudenarde, and the classic de Ronde climbs are also within easy reach . There are many flat cycle paths near by and bikes to hire for those wanting a more leisurely cycling experience. The hotel is within easy reach to the off road WW1 Plugstreet experience and the Kemmelberg (near the lovely village of Heuvelland). France is only 500M away with Roubaix not far away, so no shortage of cobbled cycling opportunities. Finally it’s all backed up by great food, hospitality and secure bike storage.

We really enjoyed Wervik, a lovely place with lots to see...

We really enjoyed Wervik, a lovely place with lots to see and do. The B&B was very cool and comfortable; everything was provided, including plenty of privacy and on-site parking. There were plenty of places to eat.

After Tongeren, Wervik is the second oldest city in Belgium...

After Tongeren, Wervik is the second oldest city in Belgium and is situated on the Leie River: "City on the River," which is beautiful. The town center is peaceful. Eetcafé De Kastaar is a trendy and popular restaurant with an extensive and diverse menu. Great service and a very relaxed atmosphere.

A charming historic town.

A charming historic town. Be sure to take a detour to the Tobacco Museum or hop on your bike for a lovely ride along the charming Leie River. Also worth a visit is the monumental St. Medardus Church. Beforehand, be sure to stop by for a delicious meal at De Kastaar, De Leiekant, and 't Kapittel. Or sample a better beer at De Grote Moriaen...
