The hotel is located only a short walk from the central beach and right in the town centre. The rooms are very spacious and a lot of quirky art is dotted around the hotel. The breakfast is delicious. The French toast in particular is so yummy. The best thing about the hotel, however, are the staff. The manager, Stella, is exceptional. Nothing is too much trouble for her, she is so helpful and so knowledgeable about local amenities. We had our wedding in Balchik and Stella helped us with our guests ' accommodation, swapping rooms at short notice and navigating the several last minutes changes we requested with patience and professionalism. Even coming in the middle of the night to let one of the guests in who had lost their room key. Stella recommended a wonderful florist who provided us with wonderful flower decorations, and arranged pre-wedding canapés for our guests with a day's notice. Stella truly made our stay wonderful.

A fabulous hotel in a superb location with comfortable well equipped rooms, and large lovely bathrooms with a shower cubicle. The swimming pool is large and has nice loungers with big sun umbrellas to shade you. The waterfront is a short walk away down a steep hill, and there is an Aldo Supermarket down there as well as endless restaurants and small shops. The botanical gardens are within walking distance and so are sandy clean beaches. The hotel has a small restaurant, but we did not use it as we preferred others in the town and along the waterfront with more extensive menus. There is parking at the hotel and across the road from it where there is a large open site on the steep hillside. The staff were very helpful and could speak English. The sheets and pillow cases appeared to be excellent quality Egyptian cotton ones, and they were beautifully soft and comfortable. The hotel is in a quiet area away from the crowds.

It's a great place to visit for a chill vaycay.

It's a great place to visit for a chill vaycay. Aside from the unique setting there are less points if interest than expected. The palace and it's gardens was great and huge, you should set aside an entire day for it if you plan to see it. The beach was okey, the main one is on the smaller side, it's in a janky area aswell but it was not overcrowded. There was also an odd tiny beach but we didn't go there. It seemed terrible to be honest. A road between the sand and the water and a strip of rock and gravel between the road and water. Have transport if you are staying further into the town. The whole place is on a series of steep hills, that is a lot of upward walking in the blistering heat.

We have been in Balchik many times and we come back always...

We have been in Balchik many times and we come back always with pleasure. This place is quiet, uncrowded and offers excellent conditions for relax and stay. Usually, we stay at Maria Palace, a very nice and elegant place. Many times, we have the lunch or dinner at La Terrassa restaurant just in front of the hotel, on the beach. Of course, we are eating especially sea food. For sun bath we always go at Albena, under 10 minutes by car.

Lovely and friendly place! Visiting the Castle gardens and the botanical garden is a breath of fresh air and nature. I saw many bad reviews about ticket overcharging, i can say they are wrong. In any country of this world it is normal to preserve historical sites, and YES, it is NORMAL to pay 60 leva (30 for the castle & gardens and 30 for the Botanical Garden & cactus exhibition), it is more than a fair price!! So stop crying about prices anywhere you go, or stay home! My visit lasted for 3 hours and we saw the whole place, then we ate near the castle, don't remember the name of the bistro. I also enjoyed walking on the seashore, many gift shops, bars and terraces.

Ok for 2 nights.

Ok for 2 nights. Beyond it becomes repetitive and very boring. Beaches in Balchik are very poor, but you can find places by car around. Suitable for elders and family with kids for short stays. Castle worth visiting once. They impose a ticket for the botanical garden and this is not ok plus it is high hill and most don t visit it however pay is mandatory making the costs doubble. Promenada is nice but becomes boring as is is very small. Recommended as pass through drstination for 1-2 nights with beach option around Balchick. Area is ok for golfers however other accomodations are to be considered.

Balcik is a town very well placed on the Black Sea coast and with a very old history. The coastline is beautiful, clean, with many hotels, restaurants and taverns. There are many small beaches where you can enjoy the sun and the sea. There is a promenade road along the seashore to the resort of Albena (approx. 9 km) but close to Albena the road has collapsed for a length of 1-2 km and must be traveled carefully. There are also certain things that I did not like, such as: - the amount of EURONET ATMs that charge generous commissions regardless of the amount withdrawn. That's why I suggest withdrawing cash from the existing ATMs inside the banks and not from the ATMs on the street; - although the Botanic Garden is an objective of great attraction, it is managed by unprepared, arrogant, deceitful staff. The tickets are expensive, you can only pay in cash and after you have bought it, you have to buy another one for another purpose, which seemed to me nothing but a scam; - there are many public (free) parking spaces arranged by the municipality, but they are permanently blocked by certain individuals with cones, to force you to park in private parking lots. I wish you a pleasant holiday!

Balchik is a pleasant town with a nice promenade. Even in the off-season, there were several restaurant choices. Interesting things to see nearby include the Botanical Gardens, Kaliakra Cape, and Varna (Roman Thermae, large park, several museums).
