I think that visiting churches should be a bit more...

I think that visiting churches should be a bit more affordable. I don't think it should even be paid for, but I understand that maintenance is necessary. For example, a family of 5 visiting 5 churches costs R$250.00, and as a practicing Catholic, I find that absurd.

The city is delightful!

The city is delightful! Calm and with good gastronomic options. The restaurants are not expensive and the service is very good. Clean streets and well-preserved colonial architecture. Churches are open to visitors and in the cathedral it is possible to attend mass (which is very good, by the way).

I enjoyed staying in Mariana because it's a city with places...

I enjoyed staying in Mariana because it's a city with places to visit, quite beautiful, calmer, and with fewer hills than Ouro Preto. Plus, it's just a short drive from Ouro Preto. It was well worth it.

Mariana is a marvel of Minas Gerais, with many attractions, rich Brazilian and state history in every corner. The city is very well signposted, and the historic center is beautifully preserved. Businesses are prepared to meet the demands of tourists. In short, it's a great opportunity to explore a small part of the Estrada Real (Royal Road) and learn more about Brazilian history.

A peaceful city with good restaurant options.

A peaceful city with good restaurant options. I had lunch at Lua Cheia restaurant, Acai Brasil is a great option, and I had dinner at Restaurante Prato Feito, which also had good choices. Despite the hills, it's easy to get around.

The city has nothing, and what it does have was closed!

The city has nothing, and what it does have was closed! Not even a single bar open where I could relax outdoors in peace. The commerce was very chaotic. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the trip and ended up returning earlier!
