Excellent hotel with the view of The Christ the Redeemer from the window. It is a good value for money hotel. The breakfast was also good. The bed was huge and abundant charging points at strategic locations. They stored our luggage even after check out as our flight out was late.

The deco - living room/dining room is very tasteful and gives you a feel of homely vibe. Food menu is limited but sufficient. Swimming pool is good size. You also have a game room to play a round of pool, or can retreat to sauna room to steam off all those caipirinhas. Staff (Pablo, Leo to name a few) are so hospital and professional. I was sick during my stay and their tentativeness (and the comfort of the hotel) certainly made the experience much more endurable. Hotel is also pretty close to main area of Santa Teresa by foot.

This is the only "good" hostel of the 6 I stayed at in Rio. The beds were great, the curtains were good. the rooms would be cramped at full occupancy, but that's true of nearly all the other hostels. The rooftop is pretty good as well.
