Our goal was successfully achieved; we drove to the...

Our goal was successfully achieved; we drove to the waterfalls and the Disappointment Park... The city is very peaceful, its bars and pizzerias serve truly delicious food, and its squares are cozy. We spent 3 days in the city and it was great.

My stay was short, so I only had time to visit the Dercy...

My stay was short, so I only had time to visit the Dercy Gonçalves Museum, where we were very well attended to by the caretaker. The city is well-maintained. Clean streets. Therefore, I intend to return to explore the place more.

Santa Maria Madalena is simply an enchanting place for...

Santa Maria Madalena is simply an enchanting place for nature lovers! The city is very peaceful and safe, and has – among other reserves – the Desengano State Park: a huge park with many waterfalls and lush, delightful pools! The people of the city are very welcoming and friendly. There are few but excellent bars and restaurants!

Madalena is a calm and safe place.

Madalena is a calm and safe place. You can walk around there without fear. One of the main attractions, the Desengano Park, has trails and waterfalls, but still has poor infrastructure (which makes it advisable to have a four-wheel drive vehicle or hire a guide for very reasonable prices). The best time to visit is from autumn onwards, when the rains decrease.

A peaceful little town with friendly people and beautiful...

A peaceful little town with friendly people and beautiful surrounding nature, Madalena is a great option for those who enjoy waterfalls, cycling, or simply relaxing in the pleasant cold weather, without the hype of other mountain towns in the state of Rio.

A very well-maintained city, with polite and hospitable...

A very well-maintained city, with polite and hospitable people. All services function very well for a small town. The Desengano Park has fantastic scenery and several waterfalls. It was worth the visit and we will return soon.
