The city itself has poor paving and there isn't much to do...

The city itself has poor paving and there isn't much to do in the city, but the places where we ate had very well-prepared and delicious food, and the people were very welcoming. We visited the Bela Vista hot spring (which has a fantastic structure), the Jabotá hot spring which even has a guesthouse (photo), the Alecrim hot spring and Alecrim beach, and the Serra da Catedral mountain range.

It's necessary to hire a tourism agency for local travel. The city of São Félix do Tocantins is completely lacking in basic urban amenities: streets in terrible condition; businesses only offer subsistence-level services. What a shame!

The hot springs and the Formiga waterfall.

The hot springs and the Formiga waterfall. I ate at a restaurant in São Felix, at the Bela Vista hot spring, and at the inn. Getting around in São Félix isn't easy; the roads are terrible, don't even think about going in a car without a 4x4. Visiting the hot springs and waterfalls is unforgettable.
