FAQs about hotels in Montréal

A Blend of the Urban and the Outdoors

Montreal is the second largest city in Canada and the entry point to Quebec province via Pierre Elliott Trudeau Airport. Montreal truly has it all. Divided into East and West by Boulevard Saint-Laurent, there are several districts to the city, each offering a distinct atmosphere.

Downtown is best explored on foot, as you weave your way through skyscrapers and visit museums such as the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts. In the winter time you can steer clear of icy paths by heading underground through the passages of the Underground City, full of shops, cinemas and food courts.

From here metros will conveniently take you outwards in any direction you might want to go, from the historic Old Montreal to the hip café and restaurant culture of the Quartier Latin-Le Village.

In summer, stay closer to the old town and head outdoors in Parc Jean-Drapeau on the St Lawrence River islands of Île Sainte-Helen and Île Notre-Dame. If the weather isn’t fine enough for rowing, water-skiing and beaches then head to the Montreal Casino.

Whether you’re visiting for festivals or fashion, gastronomy or culture, with over 190 hotels and B&Bs with Booking.com you’ll find your perfect home away from home.

A lively city with many interesting areas, each with their own personality! So much to do and enjoy, but always feeling safe. The mountains, Quebec and Ottawa are all excellent day trips, but with the Biodome, Gardens, Light Shows etc close by, there may not be time!!

We were with Victory 1 cruise and they gave us a tour of the town which was absolutely fabulous including a not long enough stop at Notre Dame. Our guide was great so that always helps and it involved fall colors.

I came to Montreal to see the performance of GIMS - in concert at Centre Bell and at his "afterparty" at Yoko Luna. Both were incredible, and the atmosphere of Yoko Luna was unforgettable. Apart from that, I shopped around in Bonsecours Market, hiked up Mount Royal and saw the skyline views, and walked along the river. The fall foliage in Montreal is stunning (I came from Boston, and the colors in Montreal are both vibrant and unique). This was my second time visiting, but I love the city and did not want to leave. Previously, I visited in May, and highlights of my trip included Saint Joseph's Oratory, Notre Dame Basilica, the Botanical Gardens, the Ferris Wheel, and the Montreal Casino. Additionally, everyone I interacted with was kind and friendly, and with my limited knowledge of French, they were happy to converse in English.

Great to walk around, not so good for driving and a nightmare to park. Most of the city is reachable on foot - it's only really necessary to drive to Mount Royal itself. Quite a few homeless people but no trouble. Vibrant nightlife. Good shopping if you like that sort of thing. Lots of cool buildings. Friendly.

Montreal is such a beautiful, fun, walkable city with excellent food and so much to do. We loved eating at Zen Soup - especially with their Ube iced cream!! The last time we were here we got a day pass to use the Metro, which we loved. But this time we came to look at Concordia and McGill University for our child, and we could walk everywhere easily. Walking really helps you see what food is available when you need it, and we found beautiful parks on the way. Another food highlight was getting Montreal-style bagels at Kettleman's in Ville-Marie! They are now my favorite bagel!

The more we visit Montreal, the more dirty and busy we find it. It's supposed to be one of the most important cities in Canada. Yet the local government doesn't make any effort on keeping it clean from garbage bags on every street, smelly corners, too many people loitering who should be taken care of, and streets under construction seem to be the normal landscape. Very disappointing!

1st night woken up at 4am by upstairs room with floor stomping, when I addressed it with staff he seems uninterested and did not apologize. On 2nd night woken up by fire alarm at 1:30am, no apologies for that also. Next day, coming back to my room from downtown breakfast, guests loudly having sex in room on same floor. This inconvenience should earn me a couple of free nights. Maybe I’ll find another hotel in the area. I stay there everytime I’m in Montreal, maybe not anymore.

The only good thing about LeLuxe Hotel is its location. It’s in downtown Montreal and close to everything—restaurants, shops, and major attractions are all within walking distance. Unfortunately, the room was not clean, the bed was damaged, and the service was poor. If location is your only priority, this place might work. Otherwise, I’d recommend looking elsewhere for a better overall experience.

All of the above. The hotel is ideal for enjoying all of the downtown diversions, and still close enough if you want to explore other parts of the city. (Old Montreal, St Laurent Blvd, China town, the Old Port, little Italy).
