The town of Oliver is small and there isn't much to do right...

The town of Oliver is small and there isn't much to do right here, but if you use this as your base, there are plenty of hiking trails, wineries, places to get onto the KVR with your bike, little lakes for SUP/kayaking, you're not far from Osoyoos or Penticton for more. If you don't like the food choices (and we weren't thrilled, mostly because we have some food intolerance issues), you can buy groceries at one of two major supermarkets. I love the Ditch Cafe which was closed for their annual Fall break when we went, but they are usually excellent. The Global Supermarket is excellent too! And the town is friendly, relatively clean. You see a lot of drug users and things like that, but where DON'T you see that sort of thing? Also, there are churches nearby like the Alliance church: this feature is important to me.

Oliver is a small working town not a tourist town.

Oliver is a small working town not a tourist town. Typical small interior BC town. Great location for touring the wineries in the lower Okanagan. Great many, very good wineries nearby, 5 to 10 minutes drive. Check out Black Sage road. Wineries to visit, Domaine Artema, Bartier bros, Church and State, Burrowing Owl, See Ya Later Ranch (OK Falls) and dozen others. 15 minutes to Osoyoos, 30 minutes to Penticton. Nice little lake and park. Quiet as it closes up early, 9 pm. Good basic diners and couple pubs. Great, very authentic Mexican cantina.

The area is beautiful and very scenic.

The area is beautiful and very scenic. There is all, anyone who likes wine and spirits can do in one place. An abundance of Wineries & Distilleries that are generally open to tour with tastings available at a reasonable cost.

I have always liked the area.

I have always liked the area. There are great places to eat. We went to the Firehall pub and brewery for our dinner. Could use more places for a real breakfast, that are open on Mondays. Close to wineries, and they now have a Wine Village, where you can go and sample some of the really small vintners and micro breweries, and have something to eat. Need lots of time there. I believe there is a small race tract there as well.

This was my second time at orchard at Oliver. I was with friends. Very bare minimum as far as the kitchen goes , no toaster, not enough glasses, and those were even mismatched glasses, 2 champagne, 2 wine , for 6 people . Wish they had taken the time to stock for the appropriate number of guests. No housekeeping first day, garbage left in bathroom sink second day. The large bins for recycling and garbage all over full. Seemed like it was a little run down since our stay last year.

This was a very good place to stay for our visit to Area 27 Motorsports Park in Oliver, BC. It was less than ten minutes to the track. A public swim area at the nearby lake was just a few minutes walk away. Our hosts were very friendly and provided lots of history of the town and made good recommendations on places to eat. They made breakfast according to our schedule and the food was excellent.

This location is PERFECT for participating in the Oliver Triathlon. I had a quiet room with a kitchenette, could spread alllll my Tri stuff out to organize, shower was perfectly hot for me and toaster/coffee maker/fridge/microwave are an awesome addition to help save money if not wanting to eat out!

The manager was very kind and helpful. The heritage hotel has kept its charm while the renovated rooms are clean with beautifully renewed flooring, modern bathroom, and a very comfortable bed. Next time I'm in Oliver, I will be sure to stay here again.

The complimentary breakfast was very well done. Lots of choices both cold and hot. One of the better offerings I have had for the many hotels I have stayed at over the years.
