The town is very small so it's very easy to get around.
The town is very small so it's very easy to get around. The town itself is very nice and clean, there are lots of flowers. The views are stunning. The hotel guests are provided with passes allowing to use the cable cars to go up the mountains for hiking or just walking. We stayed for six days in Champery in January for skiing in Portes-du-Soleil. The ski resort is huge. We were able to never do the same run and lift three days in a row. Champery is a historic Suisse alpine village with nicely presented shops, bars and restaurants. Expect to spend approx +30% in Switzerland on everything - especially food. Champery is a quiet, pretty little Swiss village on the edge...
Champery is a quiet, pretty little Swiss village on the edge of a stunning ski area. There is ample choice of small restaurants in the village and once you are up the mountain (via chairlift or telepherique) you have access to one of the largest lifted ski areas in the world. Difficult to be negative as I have been coming here for years and have my own apartment in the village which was occupied by one of my daughters and family this time. Loved the views across the valley from my room. Breakfast was good and plentiful. I appreciated not being asked on checkin what time I wanted my breakfast (as happened elsewhere). I’d been travelling all day and all I wanted was to sit down, relax, and enjoy a glass of wine overlooking the picturesque valley. Staff were so helpful.
