What a beautiful place to stay! I don't speak spanish but with google.translate the communication with the hotel was still working. Everyone was super friendly. Our cabana was surrounded by mangotrees and there are a lot of cute birds on the Cabanas Atahualpa grounds. I really ejoyed our stay here.

Pica is an interesting place - - a big oasis in the driest desert of the world. Good base for making day excursions to nearby places, especially the Salar de Huasco (salt lake) in 4000 meter altitude.

Beautiful surroundings, abundant vegetation, and fresh fruit to enjoy. Juices are their specialty, along with other local products like fruit preserves, jams, and syrups. La Cocha is a must-see; everything is very clean. The concern of the municipal authorities is evident. A peaceful atmosphere.

Street and public space cleaning.

Street and public space cleaning. Streetlights were decorated. All streets were well signposted. The La Cocha hot springs were excellent. The Cori Inti restaurant offered very good service and a variety of local cuisine, making it a place you'll want to return to.

A peaceful place with beautiful scenery.

A peaceful place with beautiful scenery. Close to Huayca, La Tirana, the salt flats, and Iquique. The only problem is the loooong wait at the Quillagua customs checkpoint if you come by land, but its tranquility and abundant fruits like mangoes, lemons, guavas, and others, as well as its natural wonders like La Cocha and the salt flats, are priceless.

A very peaceful place, ideal for travelers passing through the desert. There are services and tourist attractions available. Be aware, though, that it gets very hot in the summer. I would recommend staying somewhere with a pool and ideally with trees for shade.

A small town with lush vegetation in the middle of the desert. You can buy fruit at good prices. Visiting La Cocha or La Cocha Concova is a must. The food is reasonably priced, and there's a good selection of typical Pica dishes.
