Upon arrival, we had thought we lost our bag in the taxi, and we contacted the staff. Galen, a young staff, persistently tried to help us out. He even agreed to help us call a taxi driver to see if the bag was in the taxi. He was very empathetic, and he was very candid about where he thinks the bag was. So, without giving up, we contacted a taxi driver, and we were able to actually retrieve the bag in the trunk, despite what the taxi driver had said initially. Because of Galen, it made the rest of us stay a lot more memorable. He even went out of his way to be personable as well, and this is the kind of experience we look for in a high-end hotel. A personalized help. And because of this experience, we look forward to coming back and staying at this hotel in the future.

The first thing i like is the care about our family by the Peter, he call day before and ask me about everything we want to feel ourselves comfortable and during all three nights he did care about us, many thanks for that 🙏🏼 Rosewood hotel has the best location in GZ, best gym, swimming pool, best restaurants and bars, very good breakfast, comfortable suits, highly recommended to stay in this hotel!

The City That Has It All

Historically known as Canton and China’s third largest city, Guangzhou is the birthplace of the most popular types of Chinese cuisine such as iconic wonton soup and dim-sum. Absolutely shocking, and that was just at the airport, we could not get anyone that spoke English, we had booked hotel at airport so we could get a sleep before our next flight, We were took from one end of the airport to the other, told to fill in forms that we did not need, told we needed visa that we didn’t need, told not to talk, Eventually got to hotel had 2 1/2 hrs sleep before next flight Couldn’t get out of the quick enough 👎👎👎

I have really enjoyed my time in this mega city.

I have really enjoyed my time in this mega city. Much of my enjoyment was due to my walking extensively looking for traces of Old China. In my short time here I could only just scrape the surface.  Going behind the glitzy facades along the main roads,  I found a hidden urban landscape of labyrinthine lanes which could easily be passed by the casual visitor and those who use the metro or taxis.  The lovely parks and Six Bayan Tree Pagoda were the best. Canton Tower only for those who like concrete and glass

A food and shopping lover place.

A food and shopping lover place. For scenery, Baiyun mountain is great; if you purchase the cable car / tram tickets, walking is minimal up the mountain and there are even escalators near the summit.

Guangzhou is the destination for shopping and eating.

Guangzhou is the destination for shopping and eating. It's a bustling city with great food, a pristine subway and the Canton Tower, the fourth largest tower in the world. I will go back during one of the Canton Trade Fairs. Oh, there was a zoo across the street from the hotel. I just didn't go.

The new part of the city was so clean I was impressed and I loved all the flowers and trees by the roadside. I really liked the city at night time everything lit up it looked great. I noticed that there was very little noise from the traffic only to be informed that most vehicles are either electric or hybrids. The only negative was the Taxi drivers trying to charge too much but we learned how to deal with that after the first day there. Guangzhou gets the thumbs up from me.

Friendly, beautiful place; easy to move around. The transportation system works and works well. Everything is affordable, and people are willing to help. There are so many shops you will go crazy and get tired moving through them. The things are good quality, from tech to clothes. The apps are good, and they are your one-stop shop; 1 app has everything you need and more.

This was my first time in China, and I truly appreciated my stay at this hotel. The staff were exceptionally attentive and consistently friendly. The rooms were comfortable—slightly dated, but spotlessly clean, which is what matters most. Daily housekeeping was impeccable, and the breakfast offered a decent variety of options suitable for Western tastes. The shuttle service to the Canton Fair was always punctual and reliable. Just be sure to arrive at least 15 minutes before departure to secure a seat.

Good location. Subway station is just a few steps away. There are a couple of nice parks, very close to the hotel. Rooms are clean. The restaurant called食街 is quite good, especially its Wonton Noodle. There are many good Cantonese restaurants in the area and also an interesting historical museum close by.
