great breakfast--- both asian and western. we were able to start our hike with full bellies. The bed were very comfortable and spacious. when we arrived it was 0C and the heat worked great!

The couple managing this Guesthouse are very warm and welcoming. They took good care of us, meeting us when we reached the train station. They arranged transport for us to do our treks at different sections of the great wall. The weather was not in our favour on the first day but we enjoyed the good company and friendly conversation over many cups of tea. Our beds were also comfortable, and it was convenient to have attached toilet with good supply of hot water. There are not many food options around but we purchased very delicious meals and ate at the Guesthouse. Overall we were very pleased with our stay.

Our hosts were simply amazing! They were just so lovely. Amazing overnight ha stay! Very authentic. We had trouble with organising transfer from Beijing but then found this accommodation. our host picked us up from our Beijing city hotel and too us back at a very reasonable and much much cheaper price than anything we looked at! Also took us to and picked us up from the water town when needed. Honestly never post normally but felt I needed to share what a wonderful experience we had! We also had breakfast made for us and there was plenty and at a very reasonable price and was very yum!

Really good atmosphere at the hostel, its also very clean and the quality of the hostel here is much better than Beijing. They were very helpful with giving routes for the wall, and were quick to respond when we got lost and asked for the way. The dinner though vegetarian was really good, and plenty enough.

The host is incredibly helpful and amazing. She is always there to help, if you need anything. The room is very clean and spacious. We loved the place and the surrounding so that we even extended our stay for one more night.

We were extremely happy with our decision to stay at this lovely family-run accommodation. The hosts were exceptionally kind and helpful. We were welcomed with warm smiles and a basket of fresh fruit, and on the day of our departure—when we were running a little late—they even offered us a free ride to the bus station. Such genuine kindness truly made our stay special. Our room was spotless, beautifully decorated, cozy, and perfect for a good night’s sleep. The beds were very sturdy and comfortable. The whole place has a peaceful family-home atmosphere, and it’s clear that the owners take great pride in keeping everything clean, comfortable, and welcoming. The property is set in a quiet little village with a couple of nice family-run restaurants just a short walk away. It’s about a 20-minute walk to Beijing Wtown and the bus station along a quiet paved path by the river. The walk is lovely, with beautiful nature views, and there’s even a small riverside park with towers and sculptures that light up beautifully in the evenings—great for photos. If you prefer not to walk, there are plenty of Didi drivers available at any time, and the ride to the accommodation costs only 10–14 RMB. For travelers coming from Beijing, I highly recommend taking the direct bus, which costs 48 RMB per person and takes around two hours to reach the Water Town Bus Station (cash only). The bus leaves from Dongzhimen Outer Bus Station (东直门外) at 09:00 and 13:00, and returns from Water Town at 12:00 and 17:00. Just wait beside the brown signboard that lists all departure times. Beijing Wtown itself is absolutely stunning—full of canals, traditional architecture, small cafés, restaurants, and even boat rides that glide through the waterways, making the whole place feel like a fairytale village. In the evening, when the lights come on, the scenery becomes truly magical. At 20:40 there is a drone show with the illuminated Great Wall in the background, which is unforgettable.

We really enjoyed our stay here! The owner was really helpful - we missed the train in Beijing, so she helped us with an alternative route. When we arrived, we had dinner with vegetables from their own garden, and the next morning after breakfast she had prepared a lunch package to take on our hike to the wall. The location is really convenient, just a 10 min walk to one of the entrances near Gubeikou. You can choose to walk only there (already great) or pass to the Jinshanling area as well. The rooms where comfortable as well. Would definitely recommend!
