Charming two level cabin in a remote location, but convenient for an early morning visit to Poás Volcano. We were just 2 people but the cabin has sleeping for at least 10 people as well as a kitchen with hob, fridge freezer and wood fireplace, plus WiFi. The views are spectacular! Lots of blankets which came in handy as this was the coldest area we stayed in CR! Host was lovely and was waiting for us to guide us on where to park as waze was going to take us further down the track! Make sure you let her know your arrival time.

We stayed in cottage #7 which we believe is the absolute best of the 7 cottages. Wow, what a view. The surroundings are absolutely breathtaking, the breakfast wonderful (Gallo Pinto with scrambled eggs, fruits and juice), great infinity pool and lots of birds and eagles flying around. We would love to come back.

This was such a beautiful accommodation in a fabulous location for accessing Poas National Park. We loved the cosiness of the tent, the outside seating area and the beautiful setting too. It was really well equipped with great attention to detail. Excellent communication with the host and a hot shower too!

We stayed at the Altura Hotel. It was amazing beyond words! Can not say enough about this place. We stayed in a 'dome/yurt' and it was beautiful, well appointed and excellent in every sense of the word. Breakfast was included and it was such a treat!

This was a beautiful property.

This was a beautiful property. We enjoyed the foliage and flowers and all the little sitting areas. The room was very comfortable and had all of the amenities we required. The only thing that could be improved upon is to have a breakfast selection. It was the same thing every morning.

It's a very beautiful region, quite different from what you see in Costa Rica. The nature is truly beautiful, and there are several activities that are well worth the trip, such as Blue Falls or Catartas del Toro.

The volcano and its surrounding hiking trails. Self-guided tours. The reservation system is outdated as there are no longer any guides. The reservation price does not include payment for on-site parking (2800 colones). Lunch or dinner is available at the Bar y Restaurante Lo Que Tu Quieras (8km from the summit) with a breathtaking view.

The Altura Hotel exceeded all expectations! It is absolutely stunning! The property and the view is incredible. The rooms and suites are gorgeous. It is a very short drive to the national park to see Volcán Poás. Breakfast was delicious and there was a daily cleaning service. It was an incredible stay!

We were headed to Poas volcano, which is about a 15 minutes ride from the hotel. It's cold in the mountains, but we had heating in the room so it was comfy. We had a great a'la carte breakfast for a good price. There are hummingbird feeding stations all around the place and we saw a few from close.

Very friendly staff at the hotel! Check in was easy and our room was quite comfortable. We took advantage of the fireplace in our room and it was wonderful. Our waitress at the restaurant was incredibly personable and we enjoyed our dinner. And the location is perfect. We will come back for sure!!

The hotel is located 7 minutes from the entrance to the nature reserve (Nacional Volcán Poás) so when we landed in San Jose we drove straight to it from the airport. The place is very quiet and the room was very nicely decorated! Unfortunately we stayed at this hotel only one night.
