Karole is absolutely amazing. The apartment is on a family estate, it’s beautiful and very well furnished. We felt at home, far from the tourist area, in nature. We saw a lot of toucans and other amazing birds. Thank you so much. We had a blast!

First of all a big big thank you to Ernesto an Leslie, the owners of Vocaré, who made this wonderful and special experience so marvelous. From the first minute we felt like visiting friends, such a warm welcome for us and our two kids. Our kids loved the dogs (9), pigs, chicken and bats😉 Ernesto and Leslie made a super delicious breakfast with fruits from their garden. The Dinner was a dream, fresh smoothies with fruits from the trees next to you, vegetables from the garden and the best fish I have eaten. Ernesto and Leslie I told you, I will be back just to have dinner with you😉 The river next to Vocaré is so nice. We went swimming in the river, there is kind of a pool, also our daughter (5) could swim there on here own. All in one, one of our best experiences in our Costa Rica holidays.

Great location, nice parc and lovely hotel. Roger was always willing to give advices and smiling just like his wife. We had access to the pool(s), inside and outside and even to the kitchen for the fridge.one of the best place to rest between 2 hard hikes.

Beautiful rainforest area, very quiet, tranquil and very remote. If you want to do hikes or tours, plan the rates for entrance-fees and guides in advance, they tried to take a bit of advantage of us charging us a lot of $$$

Upala is a wonderful part of the country, partly because it is so much less visited. The wildlife/cacao/waterfalls/volcanoes - are all wonderful. go to las hornillas, have a hot tub in a volcanic crater, get some almost good cheese. go sit in a waterfall and let nature massage you.
