The staff especially the owner Toni were so helpful in arranging transfers and organising our stay. The room was very nice and the swimming pool was great. The evening we stayed there coincided with an amazing event celebrating Women of Cape Verde with a banquet, disco and excellent live musicians. Toni helped us plan our walking tour to Alcatraz and Faja which was excellent. The hotel's location is good if you are planning hikes in the area (which is cooler than most of the island) such as around Estancia Roque and along the coast. The paths are well marked. Finally Toni made sure we got back to Sao Filipe ok when the normal aluguers werent't running as it was a holiday. I wish them all the lu ck in the world in making the hotel a success.

Great place to sip cocktails by the pool. A great place to stay after hiking the volcano and just doing nothing. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Absolutely fantastic! Very nice stay in a “funco” house, typical from “Chá das Caldeiras”. The hosts Léa and Joao are really really nice, the breakfast prepared by Isabela is also amazing. A real place to stay if you intend to visit Portela in Chá das Caldeiras.

Reasonable price, clean room and very welcoming and helpful host Rose. Basic but decent breakfast (I ask it to serve at 6am before the hiking Fogo, and it was there exactly at time). The wifi is available outside the house, 20 metres in front of the hotel, close to the restaurant

I loved the owners they were so sweet and friendly. And their child was sooo cuute. They organized me a very good guide to hike to the volcano. His name was Du Santos and he was really really a nice guy. During the trip he learned us a little bite Kreol and told us something about Fogo. One of the most relaxing places I have ever stayed, great value for money. Dani and his family prepared great food everyday, very very welcoming and friendly atmosphere. Great recommendations concerning the surrounding area and the volcano. They offer all kind of tours for different levels of experience without being too pushy for it, so if you want to do a hike on your own, you still get the same great recommendations. Overall just a great place to spend your time, very relaxing.

What a lovely family! Booked it last minute and didn't expect much. But got an excellent place to stay! It is clean and cosy place for very good price. Good location as well. I even had the view to volcano through my window.
