    A beautiful, small, tranquil town in the heart of the mountain. Lovely hiking routes, although a little bit challenging. It's sad to see how many abandoned places there are... but anyway - if you are looking for nature and peace and quiet, this is the perfect place.

    We booked 2 double rooms - very big rooms and pristine clean. Splendid service with owner himself involved and available most of time and putting eye for details for a great experience for all guests. Great location with very nice views, super nice breakfast. Ideal location for hikes, and within short driving distance to Europa-Park, Zip-Lines, Cuckoo Clock and many other places. Enjoyed a lot !

    Peaceful and relaxing base to tour around Black Forest area.

    Peaceful and relaxing base to tour around Black Forest area. Lovely to hear the river flowing in the peace at night. Serviced by an hourly train to take you throughout the area. We ate in Renchtalhutte which was up steep hill from Bad Peterstal, with excellent views over countryside.

    Hotel Schauinsland is a real gem, located at the top of the village, with the forest on one side, and a beautiful view over the valley on the other. Just waking up there puts you in a good mood! The staff is really friendly, and try to accomodate you as much as they can. We very much enjoyed the sauna as well as a dip in the pool. The rooms might look a bit old-fashioned, but they were comfortable and spacious. Highly recommend this hotel for a stay in the black forest!

    Cool big chalet in the hills - balcony with our 2 spacious apartments (we were 2 adults and 3 kids). Quirky museum stuff on the hill on the way up to the house. Brilliant location absolutely stunning views and countryside, very handy for the train! Had a great meal at hotel Adler, about 5/10 minutes walk away.

    Very nice and ample spa, sauna and pool area, excellent facilities for hotel. The restaurant at the Hutte was extremely nice - superb location and wonderful choices for dinner. Staff was very friendly and helpful with hiking recommendations and ready to answer any questions.
