FAQs about hotels in Dresden

The Jewel Box

Known as the 'Jewel Box', Dresden is a stunning German city with rich history, an important classical music scene, and an unforgettable Baroque and Rococo-inspired city centre.

Located on the banks of the Elbe River, the whole city was destroyed during World War II, but has now been rebuilt into one of the most interesting places in Europe. Like a phoenix from the ashes, the Church of Our Lady (Frauenkirche) is an imposing building that is one of the most beloved symbols of the city.

Magnificent Zwinger Palace is the main Dresden attraction, featuring impressive pavilions and a majestic garden in the middle. Continue your journey along the cultural centre of Germany and visit the picturesque Baroque square of Neumarkt. Also not to be missed is Brühl Terrace, a promenade nicknamed the 'Balcony of Europe', because of its excellent view of the River Elbe.

Enjoy a relaxing stroll around the city and you will find a selection of cosy Dresden restaurants and beer gardens serving local dishes and fine wines from the surrounding vineyards.   Dresden Airport is the international airport located in the district of Klotzsche, featuring a railway station in the terminal building. Take the train and head to your Booking.com hotel, guest house or apartment.

A very beautiful, peaceful with very little crowds and descent mix of natural beauty, modern amenities, and historical monuments. Saxony switzerland visit the icing on cake. Being an Indian tbefood quality of Indian restaurant was not up to mark compared to other places like Erfurt or Cologne.

Dresden is more than a city.

Dresden is more than a city. I stayed almost 24 hours and probably i could see at most 5 % of the things worth to visit. May be less. I also had thought about Saxon kings who made the city as it is. Dresden should and must be visited again

Dresden has by now very nearly been restored to what it was before the bombing in the last World War. The cultural offerings are very rich indeed, both the museums and concerts/opera. The Elb-Sandstone formations of "Saxon Switzerland" are so close by train, that a day-trip can easily be managed. The same applies to Meissen and the beautiful wine-growing region above Radebeul.

The wonderfully restored buildings of the old city, museums, Schloss, churches, riverside park, Altmarkt market place are not to be missed. Dresden is very pedestrian friendly, most sites within easy walking distance also to and from the train station. People were super friendly and helpful.

Overall amazing, you can just google stuff and see the beautiful sights. The only issue which most travelers will see it as a problem is lack of Uber or other apps. You have to talk to taxi centres to dispatch you one, and 4 out of 5 of them don't speak any English.

We were not in Dreden very long, and I would have loved to explore the city a little more, but all in all, the city was clean and very historic, which I love. I would very much recommend other (young) tourists traveling in Germany.

Finding the hotel was the same occasion as to choose Dresden as one of our stops during our travel. We haven’t expected much from one night stop. Moreover we are spoiled with all the types of hotels (including luxury ones) all over the world in our past. I’ll be laconic. This place is just incredible. Probably the best cost for money I ever saw. Worth every penny. It has its style, it makes you feel comfortable, and staff is just great. We’ll definitely come back to the city and we already know where we’re staying:) Dankeschön

Ibis Budget Hotel Dresden is a great choice for travelers seeking convenience and comfort. The location is excellent — just a few minutes’ walk to the historical center, museums, and the main train station. The room is small but well-equipped, stylishly decorated, and perfect for one or two people. Access is easy with a room code. Nearby, you’ll find a shopping mall, supermarkets, modern restaurants, and tram and bus stops, making getting around the city effortless.

Location was great. Right down the street from the Zwinger and within walking distance of the hustle and bustle of old Town Dresden while the hotel itself was nice and quiet. The rooms were nicely sized and the breakfast was great, too. Having been here for the Christmas markets, there was alittle Glühwein stand right outside and a gluehwein tent across the street. The christmas markets were also all within walking distance .. we had a great time.

Bearing in mind that 3 grown men travelled, on a budget, to see football games in Euro 24, the staff attitude, quality of room, hotel cleanliness and proximity to bars/restaurants/shopping area and a short walk to the old town, was a delight. Our experiences in Dresden and in this hotel, were excellent. I've already recommended a long weekend away to wifey!

One of the best hotels we ever stopped in Europe. Awesome, very clean, bright room. Excellent & pleasant service. Own underground parking for reasonable price (11 EUR per night). Good breakfast. Tasty coffee and delicious hot croissants. Definitely will stay here again, while being in Dresden.
