Very nice and accomodating staff. Very quiet and comfortable room and good bed. Good shower too. Breakfast great - not these stupid buffets, but personal table service. Would stay any time again!

We liked literally everything at Brennereihotel Sponsel: the atmosphere created by the family which is running this business merits to be rated beyond 10 on a 0 to 10 scale. They are friendly, professional and helpful. Their property is nicely designed, the rooms are spacious and perfectly clean and the breakfasts are tasty. Important for us, we experienced an amazingly child-friendly attitude. A nice bonus is their restaurant - I wish I could eat more than I did! And a real highlight is the alcohol of their own production: upon arrival tiny bottles of delicious liquor were welcoming us on our pillows. Yummy!

Location: - Near the bus stop (great for those without a car) - Great short hiking trails all around - A small grocery shop nearby - Peaceful and quiet Room: - Free upgrade to the wedding suite. We brought our cat along and it was perfect for her as she loved running around playing in the room. - Bathroom is spacious with a shower and a whirlpool bath tub. As Asians,we just love that there is a bidet:) - There's a large terrace just for us. We couldn't use it unfortunately due to bad weather. Breakfast (included): - Simple continental breakfast, bread, butter, jams, cheese, eggs, coffee, tea, orange and apple juices, fruits. We started our mornings really well with that. We were served graciously by Vitali and his wife. Check-in & check-out: - Flawless and fast; we arrived half an hour early thinking we would just wait at the lounge or walk outside for a bit with our cat, but lovely Elke brought us straight to the room. Checking out was also easy-peasy. Service: - Staff was helpful and nice. We had a minor issue past midnight and they resolved it quickly. - We even had a little surprise from them like chocolates and wine after we got back from our hikes. Hotel is charming with its antiques. We fell in love with the place and the friendliness of its town people :)

The setting and staff were nice. The breakfast was good. The castle itself was beautiful and fascinating. The Italian restaurant downstairs was good. It is also a short and pleasant walk to the train or bus to Forchheim.

Lovely place, not too busy but with enough cafes,...

Lovely place, not too busy but with enough cafes, restaurants and supermarkets to visit depending your length of stay. The surrounding area is beautiful and as we were travelling on motorcycles, there are some fantastic roads to ride, especially the one that goes past the Flug platz.

This was a business trip and thus there were a few options...

This was a business trip and thus there were a few options in the area. This apartment is however a much better option than a hotel, especially for the long stay (4 weeks in my case) and the cost is less.

Ebermannstadt was our starting point for two trips through Franconian Switzerland. We also took the steam train to Behringermühle. Unfortunately, the weather was bad, but that's not Ebermannstadt's fault.

A charming little town with many renovated old houses.

A charming little town with many renovated old houses. There are many different restaurants and plenty of shopping opportunities. Almost everything is within walking distance. Ebermannstadt is a great starting point for hikes in the beautiful Franconian Switzerland region.

There are some lively restaurants there offering regional specialties (depending on the season). And you can find plenty of options in the surrounding area as well. It's a shame so few tourists go there... but it always has to be an (environmentally damaging) flight instead of a "staycation." And it's also a great meeting place for railway enthusiasts! Long live the heritage railway!
