My first Question on my trip was ‘Is there a place to safely store my bycycle’ and here we had a firm yes. The young man at reception was welcoming (and generous enough to tolerate my English only questions). A nice room with all the facilities one would expect. I was able to order an evening meal in the delightful beer garden. Food was excellent and I enjoyed my first fine German beer as the sun set in the west. Colour me happy. Breakfast? Well I can only describe this as sumptuous. A feast that set me up for a day's cycle ride. As a cyclist I was pleased to see an Aldi supermarket a few doors from the hotel which allowed me to purchase supplies for a picnic. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Extremely helpful staff. They arranged changes when our car broke down on the way to the hotel. Anytime we needed anything, they were eager to help, making our stay feel warm and welcomed. The hotel's location is excellent for visiting Kleve.

We were visiting family so we used this lovely home as a base to travel from. The restaurants in Elten are welcoming and the food is of a very high standard. We had a three course meal in the Wanders restaurant which was absolutely delicious and just over €35 euros a head which was excellent value. The manager was extremely kind and made a table for six for us despite being exceptionally busy. We also enjoyed a meal at the Berliner Hof where the steaks are amazing. Being so close to the border Elten is a lovely base to explore both Germany and Holland.

Elten is a charming border town with the Elterberg hill as a tourist attraction. The Montferland region offers wonderful hiking and cycling opportunities. Highly recommended for those who enjoy nature and tranquility. The village of Elten is very quiet, and there's not much to do. The city of Emmerich, with its famous Rhine promenade, is a short distance away.

Elten, a rustic village at the foot of the Elterberg, is a jewel in the Montferland region, on the German-Dutch border. The Montferland region is a 1,500-hectare moraine, with charming villages and the castle town of 's-Heerenberg as its main attraction. A must for nature lovers.

A lovely little town, beautiful Hoog Elten, and a mountain to hike to. We had a wonderful meal at Ratsstuben - Elten Pub - Restaurant. But you really need to book in advance. The first evening was booked solid.

The team at Wanders were incredibly welcoming and friendly. Theodore went over and above the expectations of any hotelier to ensure I made my train helping me get to the station in plenty of time. The staff at dinner was as helpful and it was clear they took real pride in their work, their guests and the reputation of the hotel.

Owner of the hotel was very attentive. We booked a twin room as it was an all male party, but when we arrived we had a double bed with twin mattress's, which was not ideal. The owner of the hotel moved us to a suite. Food in the restaurant was the best meal we had on our 10 day tour around Germany and Holland

We had an amazing dinner. Good German typical food in the same hotel (there is a restaurant there) and after that we went to the corner for an icecream. Overall, really nice.
