If you're interested in history and have some basic knowledge, then this is the place for you. The "birth house" was very informative; the exhibition is well-organized, and if you take your time and read the information panels, it takes about 1.25 hours. A more extensive city tour, including visits to churches (such as St. Peter and Paul Church), is also worthwhile.

The best part was reconnecting with my "old GDR friend" and visiting the town of Mansfeld, with its modern Luther Museum and castle, featuring an outdoor terrace and a walking tour with stunning views from a great height. There, we enjoyed delicious coffee and cake!

Exploring the city is easily doable on foot. We would have loved to have a guided tour in addition to visiting the Luther Houses. Unfortunately, this wasn't possible in April. What a shame! There are plenty of accommodation options, and no shortage of good restaurants either. The surrounding area is absolutely recommendable. A trip to the Süßer See (Sweet Lake) is also highly recommended.

Eisleben lives from and with Luther.

Eisleben lives from and with Luther. The "Luther Tavern" is now a Chinese restaurant, and the Lenin monument is history. Eisleben is a good, central starting point for exploring the Mansfeld region. A visit to St. Anne's Church and its monastery is highly recommended – I experienced a very knowledgeable guided tour.

In my opinion, it's a lovely small town steeped in the life and work of Martin Luther, and suitable for travelers who prefer a peaceful, quiet atmosphere. It's a beautiful town with friendly people and useful shops. Well worth a visit.

Very cosy hotel in a centre of the city offering nice rooms with tasty breakfast on top ot that. Room was clean, wi-fi signal strong and surrounding very quiet. It is one of those small hotels in historical buildings which doesn't belong to international chain allowing you to savour a little bit of a taste of originality.
