Overall a great stay: clean room and a new building including free parking and good wifi. The location was good as well near many places: Essen, Oberhausen, Duisburg. A lot of food possibilities near the location as well. The hotel is on walking distance of Kaufland and many other supermarkets and small shops such as Action, Macdonalds, Liddle, Mediamarkt and many other shops. 10/10 stay overall. Thanks!

Two beautiful historic buildings renovated into one hotel. The hotel is quite small and therefore cozy, combining tradition and luxury in furnishing and overall approach. One can notice a slight musty smell in the corridor reminding the age of the building, while the room is perfectly clean, light and fresh. Tasty breakfast in winter garden is a good start of the day. The hotel is near the city center however common city noise (cars and trams), neighbours' footsteps and showering are in acceptable level.

prompt service whenever i needed something eg extra towels or pillows. vending machines & coffee machines on site. very close to the local Edeka shopping market. Beds were extremely comfortable, shower and room were good size and clean modern build.

The location was very close, walking distance, to the main train station. The hotel was also surrounded by nice restaurants and bars, which makes it more comfortable to stay and to enjoy the surroundings. The hotel crew was extremelly helpful and very friendly.

I was sceptical about the hotel due to some of the reviews although I must admit that my room was compact and had everything I needed; the bathroom was newly renovated, I think. The room and bathroom were clean. No doubt, I would stay again given the opportunity.

It hasn't happened to me often when I travel, but sometimes it happens that you find yourself in a place that leaves you with a particularly dear memory, one of those that warm your heart. Well, staying in the house of Thomas and his wife was one of those memories. They welcomed us as you would a distant friend who comes to visit you, and they made us find a very welcoming, clean house, full of comforts located in a particularly quiet and relaxing area. Every detail of the house was excellent, the rooms, the beds, the huge bathroom and the equipped kitchen and in the evening we always found parking very close to the house. On Thomas's advice, we were able to get to an incredibly large market. Where there were also several restaurants and pizzerias. Finally, in the area, there is a bakery where you can have very good breakfasts and where you can find exquisite typical German bread. We were in Essen for a trade fair and the thought of being able to return to that house in the evening comforted us for the whole week. Highly recommended!

We explored the Ruhr region from Mülheim an der Ruhr for the second time on our two-wheeled bikes. Anyone interested in Germany's industrial heritage will find plenty to enjoy here. Mülheim is more beautiful than expected and offers various parks, an open-air stage, and of course, walking and cycling paths along the Ruhr River.

Lovely lobby... a great choice of colors, furnishings, and fabrics. Everything exuded luxury, modernity, and warmth. We were also very pleased with the service and the size of the breakfast. The extra treat, probably because it was almost Christmas, made us incredibly happy.

A large city on a river.

A large city on a river. The city center is mainly composed of post-war buildings, so it lacks a lot of atmosphere. The small area near the raised church and some half-timbered houses is quite attractive. The castle is also within walking distance. Public transportation is excellent, with many metro stations offering a good connection to other cities in the Ruhr region. Several parking garages are also available, some of which are inexpensive (10 euros per day).

What we saw of the city center wasn't really great.

What we saw of the city center wasn't really great. However, the area surrounding the city is very green. But I must add that we didn't actually spend much time in the city itself.
