We were recommended the hotel by the friendly and helpfull Anklam airport tower flight controllers. The hotel is very close to the airport, less than ten minutes walking distance. It is an excellent choice for pilots staying the night. The rooms are clean, the breakfast is excellent and the staff is very friendly. They are all fluent in English as well, a big bonus for us non native Germans. Looking out the well kept garden in the morning, it was also populated by very cute rabbits. The breakfast on the garden terrace and the rising sun was exemplary.

It's a bit off the beaten track, but phenomenally authentic. Country life and tranquility in a typical rural setting. We even spotted deer. Rarely a car on the village road, just the occasional tractor passing by. No hustle and bustle, but not boring either.

Putzar is a small, quiet village with a charming little church and romantic castle ruins. There are no shops or cafes, but plenty of birds and nature. In the evenings, we counted fireflies and shooting stars.
