The room was very nice, it had a lovely alpine style and it was very light, 2 windows and a door to the balcony. The view was really amazing, we could see the lake and mountains. Nice walks to be made from the hotel. Next to the hotel on walking distance there is a lovely biological farm with happy cows and chickens, where we could buy biological eggs. We loved observing these lovely cows, who could walk outside whenever they felt like it. The atmoshere in the dining hall was also pleasant. And the breakfast was very good. A nice range of choices, also for us vegetarians. Dinner for vegetarians was great. Not much choice, only 2 options, this could be improved of course, but both dishes were very good. Staff was very friendly and attentive.

The view! Just superb. We could not see the Castle from our balcony, but still the lake and mountains were gorgeous and we could see everyrhing from the private beach. We really appreciated the beach equipment available and the little playground for kids. The room was very spacious with enough room for the family to stay for a week or longer. The kitchen had all the equipment needed and enough cutlery and plates that we did not have to wash everything immediately after one meal. The bed was comfy, everything was clean and the liitle welcome present was also a nice touch. We really enjoyed our stay.

Beautiful small hotel with only a few suites. Modern structure tastefully decorated without the tacky pseudo-bavarian kitsch. Well located the the castles within walking distance, but away from the crowds. Practical and secure underground garage, linked by lift. Immaculately clean. Very quiet rooms. Excellent breakfast with fresh products. Helpful reception staff, obtaining tickets for castle visits, avoiding queues We appreciated flexible check-in/ check-out times.

Second time here as we loved it so much the first time. Amazing hotel. Love the pool and spa area, the gym is great and the food (we paid extra for the evening meals) was awesome. Will defo be back again. And probably again after that!

The beautiful hotel Schwarzenbach is highly recommended, we will come back soon! Very friendly staff/service, clean, lovely breakfast, very good cook, beautiful view to the lake and the rolling hills...... We had a tour inside the Castle of Neuschwanstein, went to Reutte/Austria and to Oberammergau near Zugspitze. The dark beer King Ludwig is my favorite!

Mid-September is the best time to visit, as the weather is pleasant and there are likely fewer tourists than in the height of summer. Enjoy a variety of activities, including visits to the nearby castles of Ludwig II of Bavaria, diverse hiking trails, boat trips, cycling, and Austria is less than 15 kilometers away.

A very beautiful, quiet location near Lake Forggensee (good...

A very beautiful, quiet location near Lake Forggensee (good swimming opportunities), secluded but not too far from the town of Füssen. Several grocery stores are easily accessible in Füssen, just a few kilometers away. Excellent network of cycle paths in the area.

Rieden itself is rather unassuming, but the surrounding area...

Rieden itself is rather unassuming, but the surrounding area is very attractive, and Lake Forggensee right on its doorstep is a definite highlight. You can cycle right into the lake. Don't forget the villages of Hopfen and Lake Weissensee either. A visit to the Festspielhaus (Festival Hall) is also highly recommended; we saw Ludwig meets Queen – a fantastic combination.

Whether it was Füssen, Schwangau, Rieden, or the smaller...

Whether it was Füssen, Schwangau, Rieden, or the smaller villages, we really enjoyed ourselves. We stayed at the Hotel Schwarzenbach, which I highly recommend. I would definitely stay at this excellent, family-run hotel again. We felt very comfortable there, and another holiday is not out of the question.

I didn't visit Rieden itself, so I can't comment on it.

I didn't visit Rieden itself, so I can't comment on it. Pension Maria is located outside of Rieden. However, since the cycle path runs right past the guesthouse, this was important to me and I made use of it. It's only 3.5 km by bike to the Festspielhaus (Festival Hall); just under 5 km to Füssen.

Breakfast room was very modern. It's more of a hostel than a hotel. Where you can cook your own food. Well stocked beer fridge and €3 a bottle across the road over 4., the breakfast was basic but adequate with as much fresh coffee as you can drink. Bedroom was spacious and the car park too. Easily to get to from the main road, Füssen and the castles less than 20 minutes away

The view from the balcony was spectacular, and the style of the interior welcome hall and restaurant was really nice and traditional. The hotel was easily approachable and it is close to many free time activities. A nice place to stay for one night.
