Campito Loving was beautiful and off the beaten path, a nice quiet and relaxing sanctuary in the country. Nicole went out of our way to make us feel at home and made us one of the best mojitos we ever had! We were there for 1 night and enjoyed lunch, dinner, and breakfast all were amazing and made with love. I would highly recommend visiting Campito Loving to experience an authentic Dominican experience away from the resorts.

Higuey is a quiet and clean city.

Higuey is a quiet and clean city. We visited a few Restaurant, ate at D'Yira the food was good and the price not bad. The City doesn't have much traffic, so it's easy to drive around. we visited a few bars and it was entertaining. Also visited the Cathedral Nuestra Senora de la Altagracia. Impressive.

The basilica is definitely a sight to see if you're on your way to Punta Cana. It's not that far out of the way and very easy to get to. Just get off the freeway and follow the main road right into town. The architecture, inside and out, is so different from any other church you've seen. Very cool!

We visited Boca de Yuma and had the most delicious local...

We visited Boca de Yuma and had the most delicious local fish for lunch at La Bahia restaurant. We highly recommend it. We also visited the Basilica de Higuey and took a stroll in town. But the best part of our trip was the stay at Campito Loving. The hospitality from Nicole, Mechy and the rest of the staff was superb. The food (breakfast was included and we also enjoyed a couple of lunches and dinners) was delicious! Quite a treat. This is a place to return in future trips to Santo Domingo.

The city is very interesting.

The city is very interesting. Besides the cathedral, there's a beautiful Catholic church in the center. The market is also worth seeing. Trade is thriving everywhere. The locals are very friendly and helpful.
