Paola is a wonderful host! She goes out of her way to help her guests. It was the third stay I had at Casa Sakiwa and it always feels like coming home after each climb in Cotopaxi National Park. Great breakfast too!

A wonderful garden like base. it’s a real privilege to stay in Diego and Janeth‘s lovely casa. Cosy and spacious, spotlessly clean, outstanding breakfast and free tea around the lovely fireplace to return to in the evenings. Absolutely lovely place with top-notch hospitality. Thank you to Francisco, Julio, Sebastian and the rest of the team for welcoming us and providing such a great experience while we visited Cotopaxi. It’s a beautiful and quite comfortable place to stay. I travelled with my family and we booked two rooms, one deluxe room for 2 persons and a Comfort suite for 3 with 2 rooms. Both had a great interior design, comfortable beds, good working fireplaces, and ecological shampoos and body creams. For the breakfast, they served fruits with muesli, bread with homemade jam, eggs, and pancakes (and tigrillo for the second day). The staff was really attentive and polite the whole time. For one day we booked a full day excursion through the national park and the local guide was really attentive and considerate, too, especially with my older parents who had to walk very slowly. Finally, the view to the Cotopaxi volcano is amazing!! Thank you very much, Chilcabamba Lodge!

Ideal location to start summit to Iliniza Norte or Sur, or just do hiking. Frank, the landlord, is a nice and helpful guy who can rent climbing gear for very affordable prices and provide any sort of advice and sort your problems. Recommend Iliniza Wasi for hikers and climbers.
