The city itself doesn't have much to offer or can be visited quickly, but it is a good place to stay as a starting point to discover the region, which is very rich and surprising in heritage and natural spaces to visit. Visited at the end of July / Early August very good weather, fantastic with the rest of the country suffering from a lot of heat.

They have several options for active tourism.

They have several options for active tourism. The area with the old ore kilns is very interesting, both in the town square and on the outskirts. The riverside area is very well maintained. They have a small market every two weeks. I bought some delicious cornbread 😋

Everything is close by, it's peaceful, and having the river...

Everything is close by, it's peaceful, and having the river right outside the door is wonderful, plus there are many hiking trails. We booked a tour of the Consuelo mine and a 300m zip line descent at a height of 80m—an experience we highly recommend, and the instructors were fantastic.

The hostess was very kind and did everything possible to make us comfortable. I did miss having a bidet in the bathroom, but that's forgivable given the location and the friendliness of the people. The bed was very comfortable and the room was well-equipped. The atmosphere was very welcoming.

A town I met by chance, on the way to Taramundi.

A town I met by chance, on the way to Taramundi. It is not crowded, you can do active tourism, hiking, cycling, canoeing on the Eo river. It has several river beach areas, where you can have lunch in nature. I was left with a pleasant impression.

Near Taramundi and close to hiking trails.

Near Taramundi and close to hiking trails. The village itself is nothing special, just two streets, and nothing particularly interesting from what we saw. There are two bakeries, one closed and the other almost out of stock, and if you go on Sunday, nothing is open. You can visit the old ovens, but that's about it. If you don't have a car, there's little to do, or maybe nothing at all except the bar.
