Comfortable room with good bed, airconditioning, nice bathroom and a terras with a great view. Also very special is the view inside the wine cellar from the hallway. There was a special romantic dinner that night, obviously with great wines, but also good food and music.

A very comfortable room with balcony at the lively heart of this lovely small village. We walked to the old part where there are old churches and houses with a great view from the higher church over surrounding village. Up there we found the wine bar garden at Bodegas Tierra. There are good restaurants and bars in the village which we enjoyed. We did not eat food on site but the restaurant and bar were obviously popular with locals.

Despite language barriers, the hospitality was some of the best that we have ever experienced. The apartment is situated in a wonderful location in San Vicente de la Sonsierra, close to the main square with cozy bars and restaurants. The facilities were excellent. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay!

Just WOW! It was perfect.

Just WOW! It was perfect. The architecture of the building and the interior decoration are awesome. The cuisine was excellent, fine details in every dish and very affordable . If you looking for a quiet retreat with lots of charm, this is the place. Highly recommend this stay. If ever I am back in this region of Spain, will definitely stay here again.

A large village just a stone's throw from the must-see...

A large village just a stone's throw from the must-see architecture of La Rioja (Ysios and Marques de Riscal) and the charming surrounding towns of San Vicente Sonsierra, Laguardia, and numerous wineries. Enjoy a glass of wine in a relaxed atmosphere at the gourmet bar... and perhaps visit the local winery before heading home.

A beautiful little village in the Rioja Alavesa region.

A beautiful little village in the Rioja Alavesa region. The village boasts 15 wineries (!?). It's located near the more well-known Laguardia, making Ábalos a much quieter place to stay. The surrounding landscape is truly spectacular.

A welcoming and peaceful village, with a beautiful church that the locals will show you, its small emergency shop, in a privileged setting, surrounded by vineyards and next to the mountain, just 35 minutes from Logroño and 50 minutes from Vitoria-Gasteiz, Swimming pool in San Vicente de la Sonsierra 10 minutes away.

We arrived at the hotel on a Wednesday, a staff day off, so...

We arrived at the hotel on a Wednesday, a staff day off, so the restaurant service was unavailable. There are no restaurants in the village. Overall, it was a suitable place for us to stay. We were well looked after by Jose Luis, who offered us an excellent breakfast. Recommended. Good parking.

Nice old building. Vineyards and other old towns worth a visit all nearby. Food was very good, incl. dinner. Private parking. Very good value for money. On Friday, from late afternoon onwards, many locals gathered in the small hotel bar for a drink and tapas. Even though we don't speak spanish, it was fun hanging out there and drink a whine. Total foreigners to us, they were quick to share their tapas with us. Really nice.

The hotel is very nice and the rooms are spacious and clean. The complementary breakfast in the morning was amazing! Although we didn't eat dinner at Villa Ábalos, we've heard excellent stories from locals so be sure to reserve a spot when you get the chance. It's a great spot between several wineries on walking distance.
