Location is perfect, right on the beach and not far from the city if you would like to explore it. Staff are professional and very friendly always happy to help. Animation are every day, kids been happy to participate in. Kitchen is pretty good. There is always a fresh salad available, paella, pasta, lots of different fish and vegetables. Desserts are ok- still something to choose from- can’t really expect more from three stars hotel. Entertainment in the evening which is plus and good terrace where you can enjoy the view. If you want to park your car in the hotel parking area you have to pay but we found a lots of free parking space around the area so it’s not really a problem as I thought.

The town can be visited in half a day.

The town can be visited in half a day. Seeing the church is recommended, but the surrounding area offers many other interesting things. Nearby are San Mateu, Morella, Alcossebre, the castle, and the hermitage with its spectacular viewpoint. Being close to Alcossebre beach, staying in Alcalá de Chivert is worthwhile for the price, and I imagine it will be cooler in the summer.

A warm and attentive welcome (the receptionist moved her own...

A warm and attentive welcome (the receptionist moved her own car so we could park ours right next to the hotel). The exterior is striking, with its Wild West-style architecture. The room was spotless. The bathroom was entirely marble. The nightly rate was reasonable. We will definitely return! Paul and Chantal Clément

Alcalá is a very quiet little town.

Alcalá is a very quiet little town. There are a few shops for essentials, but it lacks a restaurant. It's well-served by the train station. The locals are very friendly. There's a magnificent church worth visiting. Don't hesitate to visit Alcossebre and Peñíscola as well.

Compared to nearby Alcossebre, it's much quieter and, above...

Compared to nearby Alcossebre, it's much quieter and, above all, cheaper (accommodation and food), although there's not much to see in the town itself. There are few restaurants. The most interesting things are the Templar castle a few kilometers away and the beaches of Alcossebre (about 11 km away), as well as the hiking trails in the Sierra de Irta.
