lovely hotel, with very friendly and helpful staff. beds very comfortable, breakfast plentiful. loved the little extra touch of the curtains opening every time you walked in to the room, so you could fall in love all over again with the view, which was perfect.

Javi was a very friendly and helpful host. He answered all our questions and helped us with any queries we had. The apartment was only 10 minute drive from the airport and easy to get to by taxi. The apartment was very good value for money. Very clean and had everything we needed for our stay. Really lovely apartment to stay in.

Although a capital city, it's very walkable.

Although a capital city, it's very walkable. The lagoon (Charco de San Gines) is a lovely spot for restaurants, cafes etc., and people watching. The beach at El Retiro was closed for bathing on our visit. Apparently sun beds and umbrellas are due to make a return in early 2026. There is a variety of shops in the centre (and a big shopping mall about 15 minutes' walk away, not far from the bus station). There's not a huge amount to do - a couple of small museums, but otherwise some nice walks along the coastal promenade, and plenty of eating and drinking. It's low-rise, and wasn't too busy in early December. The Nao Cerveza brewery tap is worth a visit for craft beer lovers.

Arrecife is a great place to stay if you want to visit other...

Arrecife is a great place to stay if you want to visit other parts of Lanzarote, particularly if you are using public transport. You can access all of the Cesar Manrique sites which we would highly recommend. In Arrecife there are plenty of places to eat and bars to have a cocktail or two.

I was surprised by Arrecife, the cost of food and drink in a capital were surprisingly low. €1.50/small beer made eating out and having a few drinks very reasonable so we ate out every night. Great value destination, the bus had a flat fee of €1.40, which took me back to my childhood growing up in South Yorkshire with public transport subsidies, so 1 stop or a long journey was a fixed cheap price. The time of year we visited, November, meant it was maybe quieter than some would like but our party loved, with enough to do and see and great pedestrian zones meant you could walk everywhere and not have to worry about traffic. I have already recommended the destination and the place we stayed to someone at work.

We have been visiting Lanzarote for many years now and have always stayed in Puerto Del Carmen. Arrecife was a more traditional Spanish resort without the 'strip' of British and Irish bars and shops selling mostly tat. We thoroughly enjoyed the change.

Arrecife is central and has good connections so you can travel to most places by bus from there. You can stay in a far prettier place but if you don't have a car, may find yourself a bit isolated. I enjoyed visiting the fort and the sea front.

Visited many times but never stayed for any time in Arrecife...

Visited many times but never stayed for any time in Arrecife - so we half knew what to expect and was hoping we would discover where there may have been a few more "local" restaurants and music bars and venues ideally somewhere where we could have listened to local artists. Not keen on Irish bars which make a feature of Irish music and karaoke - not the sort of music we were seeking out and fortunately we did not find any Irish bars in Arrecife. They are well hidden!! Was also hoping to discover a few more "locals" restaurants in the back streets but really only found a good Mexican La Lupe Cantina on C. Coronel Bens. You need to wander over to El Charco for the best choice of restaurant. Taxis easy to get and the Lanzarote Bus is useful - when the bus drivers are not working to rule and the app actually contains data that is useful. Enjoyed our time there!

The hostel has a great location, just a few minutes’ walk to the shop and around ten to fifteen minutes to the beach. The staff were very friendly and a big plus was having a hairdryer and ventilation in the room. The free Wi-Fi was also a great bonus. If I ever come back to Lanzarote, I’ll definitely consider staying here again. Highly recommend!

We were there at the last minute as Dad had a stroke in Lanzarote- the team were amazing with us accommodating an additional room at short notice when Dad was discharged, printing out fit to fly documentation etc! Hotel super clean, lovely staff, fab breakfast, loved the gym, loved the pool and amazing location ❤️

Great location in Arrecife on the seafront, close to the restaurants of Charco de St. Ginés. Fab sun terrace on the roof with views of the fort opposite. Fantastic welcoming and friendly staff. Good value for money. One of the best places I have stayed in Lanzarote, and certainly the best in Arrecife.
