Beautiful medieval village, lots of well preserved...
Beautiful medieval village, lots of well preserved architecture. Very quiet off season so no one around. Only 3 bars open. Staff weren’t too friendly. We chose one bar and the owner warned to us and ended up serving us an ok meal outside. Dogs are not allowed in anywhere. Slightly expensive for what we ate.
It was very cold.
Would like to go back in spring as I’m sure it’s much nicer.

The town as a whole seemed very beautiful to me, with a lot of heritage but very neglected. It's a small town considering the large number of churches it has—I counted five or six—of Romanesque and Gothic art, of great religious and architectural value. It also boasts a castle at the highest point of the town with its keep and a large, now ruined, wall.

I liked the cleanliness of the streets, and the neighbors were very welcoming. What was missing: the swimming pool, closed for some unknown reason; the chapel at the lower entrance, overgrown with weeds, and the double doors, currently sealed with cement, need to be restored; the tourist office is only open on weekends and holidays; and the houses are in ruins—they should be encouraged to repair the facades.

I really liked the location.
I really liked the location. The supermarket and bakery were just around the corner. Everything is very close for visiting the sights. Atienza pleasantly surprised me. The views from the castle are beautiful. We had a delicious roast lamb at the Atienza viewpoint. Highly recommended, and the service was excellent.

It's a very well-preserved village, touristy but still...
It's a very well-preserved village, touristy but still retaining its authentic charm. The castle and medieval streets are particularly interesting. I recommend parking on the outskirts and strolling along its cobbled streets. In autumn and winter, you'll need to dress warmly. Several other interesting towns are less than an hour's drive away.

Despite its reputation, I was disappointed.
Despite its reputation, I was disappointed. Lots of cars and little tourist infrastructure. Its museums are interesting, but not worth the trip. Just a stroll and a couple of squares are somewhat worthwhile. Fortunately, the hotel helped improve the experience.

Unfortunately the hotel was empty as it’s out of season. The whole village was empty. However the friendly staff heated our room up before we arrived. They were dog friendly too. They gave us a nice breakfast in the heated bar in the morning. The coffee was delicious. They were dog hotel is huge with lots of social areas. I think it would be lovely in season when there are more guests.

Situated on the edge of a small ancient village, this hotel was a little off the beaten track but was perfect for my needs passing through from south to north of Spain. Very reasonably priced room and dinner was also very reasonably priced.
