FAQs about hotels in Cádiz

Spain’s Oldest Jewel

Cádiz might be a small strip of land, but being the oldest inhabited city in Spain, it means that it’s covered with monuments from different ages and cultures. Beautiful sandy beaches kissed by crystalline waters are also part of its magic, while you won’t be able to forget that you’re in Andalusia, land of music and passion.

Founded by Phoenicians, it had Greek, Roman, Arab and Visigoth influence, and the Age of Discoveries reclaimed its fame as port city. It became a cosmopolitan centre of commerce, enriching a heritage still visible in its historic centre. Don’t miss its narrow streets, colourful squares, the Roman theatre, and the imposing and eclectic Cathedral. Some of the most unique hotels in Cádiz are located in the Old Town.

The newer districts include wide avenues and contemporary buildings. These are the areas of Cádiz with a larger offering of modern hotels on the beach and apartments for rent. Restaurants and cafés serving great local, Andalusian and Spanish specialities are also easy to find.

The railway stations of Estadio, Segunda Aguada, and Central link the city with the rest of the country, while the nearby Jerez Airport is 47 km away. If thinking of visiting southern Spain, check out the Cádiz accommodation deals on Booking.com!

It has very beautiful beaches, including some smaller ones if you don't want a large beach area, a small easily walked historic area, and plenty of places to eat. There arexalso good buses if you don't want a long walk

Càdiz oozes history and charm and is a very unique city that is well worth the visit. I highly recommend walking and taking in all the beauty it has to offer. As I was travelling alone, I didn’t really dine out much, as the apartment I was staying in had a kitchen, and preferred to buy what I needed from various shops around the city. If you go on VoiceMap, you can contact Clive Muir via email, and he will send you a code so you can access his guided walking tour for free and explore the sights and history at your leisure. Unfortunately, I wasn’t there long enough to explore all the museums etc but be sure I will go back again and do exactly that!

Living in the old town, we just went out each morning and tried to walk in a different direction. It is just a warren of narrow streets with interesting buildings and monuments dotted all over the place. We particularly liked walking barefoot in the surf on the beautiful beaches and we found the Roman theatre particlularly impressive.

We loved Cádiz, it has such a great history, lovely lanes to stroll around, beautiful buildings, interesting and individual shops, really excellent food in the restaurants and bars and very reasonable prices, we especially liked the Mercado de Abastos and the gourmet area tapas bars around the outside, friendly nice, buzzy but relaxing atmosphere. We had a walking tour on our first full day there which made our stay even more enjoyable with an excellent guide. We parked the car in an underground car park on arrival and didn't need to use it again as everywhere was in easy walking distance. We are hoping to return soon.

The Hotel is unique in my experience inthat it is a converted monastery with a wonderful marble floored courtyard. It was cool during the Spanish summer and very graceful and peaceful. The rooms were smallish but comfortable with efficient A/C. The Hotel is within strolling distance of Cadiz Railway Station and very central for Cadiz which is a wonderfully compact City full of interest. Beaches are superb abd the Hotel loans Beach Towels. Breakfast was great with excellent staff.

The location is fantastic. Everything is minutes away - the beach, a supermarket, bars and restaurants, and very close to old town of Cadiz. The hotel is beautiful, the room we had (queen with sea view) was huge and beautiful. Pool was great, breakfast delicious, and on-site parking was a bonus.

Lovely hotel in the middle of Cadiz old town - easy walking to shops, bars and restaurants as well visiting all the local attractions. Would recommend a visit to Taberna La Manzanilla - a quirky authentic sherry bar.
