The hotel is right next to the motorway so excellent location for a stop-off on a long trip. The bar and restaurant looks very nice although I only used it for breakfast. My room was comfortable and clean with very good air conditioning. Which was great as the temperature outside when I got there was 37 degrees 🙁. Check in was quick and breakfast was nice. I particularly enjoyed the freshly squeezed orange juice. Plenty of shaded parking as well.

The swimming pool, the surroundings, and the fruit tress made our trip absolutely fantastic. The kids loved the pool, and the seniors absolutely enjoyed picking and eating delicious figs & mulberries.

A jewel in the Sierra Magina crown - literally, a compact...

A jewel in the Sierra Magina crown - literally, a compact ancient defensive whitewashed town set within the very cliffs at the confluence of two rviers running through the undulating acres of olive groves. The Hostal looks down into the cliff capped town, once defended by two Moorish forts on opposing pinnacles. The town bustles round a jolly big town hall and massive centenial elm tree and olive pressing mill. At the Hostal the food flourishes rustic tendencies and a bar busy from dawn to midnight with gossiping locals. Luckily the comfy rooms are well above the clatter and chatter.

A charming village, crossed by two rivers that join to form...

A charming village, crossed by two rivers that join to form the Cambil River... Hiking trails and a 200-step climb—super easy, I highly recommend it—to reach the viewpoint in the center... I really enjoyed it and would go back. We had dinner and breakfast at Cruzcampo, and bought bread there—delicious, by the way—and we also bought Cambil olive oil. 😘

Perfect for nature lovers, far from the typical tourist...

Perfect for nature lovers, far from the typical tourist towns where everything seems artificial. A super quiet, beautiful village, with hardly any tourists, nestled at the foot of the Sierra Mágina, the highest peak in Jaén province.

Cambil is an old, winding town that suffers greatly from its traffic problems. It boasts many interesting buildings and a lively center. It's an ideal base for excursions and hikes in the surrounding Sierras.

Well decorated & comfortable hotel with views over little Gambil town hiding in a gorge. Rooms are warm, quiet, light, plenty hot water, big tv. Busy local bar downstairs has excellent food. Mild olive oil soaps. Well worth 15km diversion off the Mad-Granada autovía just south of Jaen.
