I stayed in a private room which was part of an old prison. It was immaculately clean and everything was brand new. The double bed was huge, as was the walk in shower. Triacastela is a very quiet place after about 9pm in any case but there was no noise from roads or anything else. They have their own restaurant next door. I wasn’t so hungry but had their Galician vegetable soup which was delicious although other pilgrims in the restaurant commented to the waiters about how good the food was. Lady on reception spoke English well and was very helpful. Would absolutely stay here if I ever visit again.

A very clean hotel that is basic but meets all of your needs on the Camino. The staff are helpful and friendly. There is a washer and drying for your clothing. And the location at the centre of the Old Town and on the Camino was very useful. The attached restaurant provides a good breakfast and is nice for sitting outside and having a drink when you arrive.

The hosts, Anna and David went out of their way to...

The hosts, Anna and David went out of their way to accommodate my every need without my asking. Their home is beautiful; my large bedroom was magnificent with a window seat facing the gardens. We were invited to take berries and fruits right off the vine. They always made sure the fireplace was roaring since the weather was nippy. The meals were extraordinary and gourmet. David prepared soups from garden vegetables and even showed me how to prepare extraordinary meals with simple recipes. Amd there was always a freshly-made dessert and wine. They are also both extremely gracious and lovely people. I wish I could have stayed much much longer. It felt as if I was in paradise. Staying there was a magical experience!
