The time spent in Figueres which was 7 days was just right...
The time spent in Figueres which was 7 days was just right for this visit, we attended a family wedding at the end of the week which was a 3 day occasion. I think that 3-4 days is probably a good length of time to embrace Figueres. The Town is lovely with nice shops, bars and restaurants and the Salvador Dali museum is definitely worth a visit. We took a Taxi to the resort of Roses which was a lovely day, visiting the beach, restaurants and town. You can also get around easily on the buses and trains. The most interesting thing in Figueres is Salvador Dali's...
The most interesting thing in Figueres is Salvador Dali's Museum and also his birth house. The military fortification (Castillo de San Fernando) on top of the hill is walking distance from downtown and worth a visit. It is the biggest in Europe I believe. Figueres can also be a good base, if you have a car, to explore Cape Creus and the beautiful towns of Cadaques, Port de la Selva and Llança.Guest review byMarcSpain - 8.0

Well, its not that Salvador Dali is an attraction HE IS THE TOWN- it was great to be there see his "Cassa Natal", Teatre Dali Muse and then hike out to Cadaques and thence to Pubol- but I felt that there could have been a bus that would have taken visitors/devotees there and not make it so difficult by: -Bus -Train -By Foot for the autoless travelers. Our reason to go to Figueres was to see the Dali Museum which was excellent!!! There is really nice cafe located right outside the Museum called 'DALICATESSAN' on sant pere 19, with tasty, simple fare and an enthusiastic owner who speaks great English. We discovered another Dali Museum which is about his childhood and much quieter than the main museum....but extremely well done. An easy walk to the bus station to go to Cadaquese and walk onto Port Ligat for Dali's house Museum. Easy to fill in 2 full days in this area!Guest review byMaxineNew Zealand - 10.0

The main attraction is the wacky and fascinating Dali museum - which was a ruined theatre restored with Dali’s artistic guidance and filled with his clever and bizarre paintings and art installations. Not to be missed. Book a time slot in advance if possible and allow at least two hours inside to take it all in! It is quiet but close to the city center and to the major ways to reach the seaside, Girona, Barcelona and plenty of interesting historical heritage places around. We always stay here when we're heading for our holidays further in Spain. The family rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable. Also one of the reasons we always stay here is the restaurant. The kitchen here is outstanding! Great local food; fish, rice dishes and vegetables are served on a very high level. Staff is very friendly.
