Very good food, good selection on menu despite being Oct & fewer tourists . Staff / owners / hosts extremely nice, kind, helpful, offered a different bedroom on other side of the hotel because the cattle had been moved to a field beside the hotel just before we arrived as they were concerned that the bells on the cattle would disturb our sleep - the cattle did not disturb us at all (even the light sleeper who wakes at almost everything). We were made to feel very welcome. Owners even lent us walking poles & refused our attempts to pay for the pole we damaged. Simply couldn’t have been better hosts. Stunning views of Picos de Europa. Peaceful, beautiful location. Would definitely stay here again & stay for longer. Exceeded expectations.

We really enjoyed that there were gates in our balcony as well as in the community garden, it was really useful because we had a dog and we were able to let him run free as there was no way he could run away. Interior was very interesting and charming. The apartament was also extremely clean.

I travelled with a group of 5 women friends, our welcome and experience of the Hotel Toscana was exceptional, the staff were so friendly and went out of their way to be helpful and support us with our stay at the hotel and our further journey. We loved everything about the hotel it was clean, welcoming and friendly. Everything you could want from a hotel, and at a great price. If visiting Fuente De the cable car is a must (dependant on the weather). We took the cable car up then walked all the way back down, approx. 14km. The views from the top and on the walk down are superb. There is a Hotel with a cafe after about 4km to get drinks and food. The walk is not too strenuous as it's mainly down hill although the last section back to Fuente De through the forest is a bit up and down. Overall a great walk, 9 out of 10.

First time visit to Picos de Europa - which we knew for a...

First time visit to Picos de Europa - which we knew for a long time - give us a very pleasant encounter with a thru mountain type of landscape and scenery. It is very accessible, thanks to its heights and (obviously) with the cable car lifting you to 1800m in a few minutes :-). Though, the weather wasn't that good when we were there - end of april 2024 - with some light snow and quite foggy. You should prepare and dress accordingly, it's still a mountain environment - and be ready to change your plans. Staying at the Parador de Fuente Dé is a good place to start discovering the Picos de Europa.

This hamlet is about 90 mins from the autoroute up some quite challenging but superb mountainous roads. Beware the 3 or 4 roadworks. The hotel is located right next to the cable car which takes just a few minutes' vertiginous ride to the 1800 metre summit. The weather was good and there was no wind. A busy restaurant and hotel at the top. Great views too. A good stop for hikers, bikers and off-roaders; none of which apply to me.

From there you can take several routes of varying difficulty, and you can also take the cable car if you prefer not to walk too far. It's the end of the road, so if you want to start a route from another location, you'll always have to backtrack.

What we liked most was the staff's friendliness and its location for accessing the cable car. What we liked least was having to carry our luggage up the stairs from the first to the second floor. There's no elevator, but for one night, it was exceptional.

Exceptional location at 1070m altitude, at the bottom of the valley. During peak periods, it can be difficult to find tickets for the cable car at the desired time; I advise buying tickets in advance online to be able to leave at the desired time. Superb views from the top of the cable car and beautiful walks to do with appropriate mountain equipment.

hotel was in a lovely location, close to Telerifico, unfortunately it was not working but this did not detract from our visit, the area is spectacular. The staff were excellent especially the lady who waited table while we were there, I’m sorry I didn’t get her name. She was very pleasant, courteous and caring, also very hard working with a lighthearted attitude. The staff were very caring and helpful with me as I am disabled and needed help getting in and out of the hotel.

If you are visiting the Picos de Europe you must stay here! Try and book one of the rooms at the back of the hotel which look out towards the mountains and with the cable car running right above you. Rooms are superb, large with wonderful enclosed balconies and great views. Lots of communal spaces to relax and a good restaurant. The location is perfect, just a 5 min walk to the cable car for some great views and walks in the mountains.

Not the prettiest of hotels externally, but inside was spacious, bedroom had its own little protected balcony to enjoy the vista. Good breakfast with really nice staff.
