very spacious, convenient location for exploring Bardenas Reales. Absolutely lovely owner (?) who was very accommodating for us and our dog. Good dinner for a good price and a good included breakfast. Definitely recommend to explore the desert/as a stop over.

The room was beautiful and it felt relaxing from the moment we walked in. The building had been expensively restored and this was reflected throughout. We enjoyed a three course dinner which was good value for money. It was particularly pleasant to sit in comfortable surroundings and enjoy a glass of wine. We liked the location and took a stroll around the town, which has several buildings of architectural significance. The host was very welcoming, friendly and helpful. We will go there again.

We chose Funes for its location near the Bardenas Reales.

We chose Funes for its location near the Bardenas Reales. The house is on a quiet street, and a large supermarket is just a few kilometers away. We didn't really have time to explore the village itself. The church has a lovely bell tower, currently inhabited by a stork.

My stop in Funes was only for one night during a long car...

My stop in Funes was only for one night during a long car journey. A short distance away in the village, there's an option to have breakfast early in the morning (8:00 am). In the village before Funes (I've forgotten its name), there's a gas station offering extremely low prices, at least at the beginning of July.

A quiet town. Perhaps too quiet.

A quiet town. Perhaps too quiet. There was hardly a soul in the streets. The best part was the restaurant where we ate, Las Halconeras de Sancho IV, highly recommended. We stayed overnight in Funes because we were going to a concert in the next town over, and this was the closest accommodation we could find.

The beds were comfortable, the room clean, but there were no toiletries, not even for washing hands. The room was tiny with only one electrical outlet, which was far from the bed. The food dispenser was empty, there was no coffee maker, and getting the keys was a hassle because it was automated. The walls were paper-thin; you could hear everything. One night, and never again.
