Our family absolutely fell in love with Granada!

Our family absolutely fell in love with Granada! It’s one of those places that has a little bit of everything — history, beauty, great food, and a relaxed, welcoming vibe that made us feel right at home. Of course, the highlight of our trip was visiting the Alhambra. Even the kids were amazed — the palace feels like something out of a storybook, with its intricate carvings, peaceful courtyards, and stunning views over the city. We took our time wandering through the gardens of the Generalife, and it was just breathtaking. Tip for families: go early in the morning to avoid the crowds! Granada itself is so much fun to explore on foot. We loved strolling through the Albaicín, getting lost in the narrow cobblestone streets, and stopping for tapas in little local bars. The people were friendly everywhere we went, and the food was delicious — we all agreed that churros with chocolate became our new favorite breakfast at Viacolon. What really stood out was how family-friendly the city felt. There’s so much to see and do, but it never felt stressful. Whether it was exploring the old neighborhoods, relaxing in a plaza with ice cream, or watching the sunset over the Alhambra from Mirador de San Nicolás, every moment felt special. And if it happens to be during Halloween, it's even better. We left Granada with full hearts and so many great memories. It’s a city that captures your imagination — and one we’ll definitely come back to someday.

Was extremely disappointed that we couldn’t get tix for the Alhambra once we were there. I could not book in advance because I wasn’t sure I’d be able to go on the whole trip at that time. There is essentially no refund available. Went to see the Lorca museum but it was closed (on a Saturday) because of a holiday (Day of Dead). Didn’t know that. We ate at Syrian restaurant. The food was good and well-priced. Travelling by bus, taxi and on foot was easy. But Granada is a lovely town. The people we encountered were extremely friendly and talkative.

Stick to the old part of Granada and it is characterful & interesting. The must see is the Alhambra - stunning ! It was very crowded which spoiled the experience a bit. Be sure to book entrance tickets well in advance - they sell out every day !

I simply Love Granada, this was my 5th time and I will be going again very soon, I just love the vibe and the atmosphere, the Alhambra is entrancing and i could look at it all day and not get bored. The weather was beautiful and helped immensely, the choice of restaurants and cafe's and places of interest are vast, a sheer joy. Parking is an issue but not if you plan ahead.

If you have time for some extra exploration head up to the San José Municipal Cemetery in Granada, it's up on the mountain and you have access to some really nice hiking paths from there. The cemetery is one of the biggest monumental ones in Europe and the graves can take you back up 250 years.

Most people come to Granada to visit the Alhambra.

Most people come to Granada to visit the Alhambra. If that is you, I highly recommend buying your tickets weeks ahead of time. If you wait till you get there, there will be no spots available. It is also wonderful to walk up to the San Nicholas viewpoint and the Sacramento Cave neighborhood. Both are on Hillside neighborhoods that are delightful to walk-through. And have wonderful views. I highly recommend a visit to the Hammond Turkish baths with massage. The baths are beautifully decorated and candle lit.It was one of the most soothing and relaxing things I’ve ever done.

This hotel was the absolute highlight of our trip to Spain. Surrounded by beautiful villas and within easy walking distance to the Alhambra and a quiet neighbourhood of good restaurants. We are in our 60’s and the steps to get down to the main centre were not a problem. We had a standard double room with a beautiful terrace overlooking the most amazing view of Granada. Breakfast was served on another lovely terrace overlooking the city. Our host Alejandro was always available for a chat or any helpful advice. We highly recommend.

Wonderful. Beautiful. Felt like a princess. This 17th century grand mansion boasts the original frescos. It was owned by noblemen, then the military? Then abandoned and took 11 years to restore. Wow! The best hotel experience. The only thing missing was fluffy slippers lol. Wonderful products, quality free coffee and water bottles all day, fluffy gowns. Gilded need. Walls convered in silk damask. Wonderful lady called Carmen who runs the kitchen . Sumptuous breakfast. Best pastries in all of Spain.

This is the best hostel I've stayed at in Europe, and probably top three of all time. AMAZING value for the price, with capsule hotel-style beds (that are VERY comfortable) providing a lot of privacy. Bathrooms in the rooms were cleaned everyday. The location was great, as you could walk everywhere. The metro was right next to the hostel too, if you need that. Would definitely come back if I visit Granada again!
