It’s was a little oasis after walking the Camino. Such a beautiful place. They had a cold pool to soak your feet. Laundry facilities. Staff friendly and helpful.

The staff here were warm and welcoming. The albergue was modern, clean and spacious. ‘Great hot and cold drink selection and the communal dinner was delicious. Also a really nice relaxing space for after your walk - yoga mats, rocking chair, hammock seat. I would happily do a rest day here. The albergue makes a really big effort to keep their carbon footprint low as well.

The staff were so nice. The food was lovely, fernando has the patience of a Saint, all the staff work so hard and remain very welcoming and happy. Im so glad I stayed here😊

We stayed in Hontanas while walking the Camino de Santiago...

We stayed in Hontanas while walking the Camino de Santiago because nothing was available in Hornillos del Camino, our planned stop. The village is down in a hole, so it can't be seen until you're only a very short distance away. Walking in during heavy rain, we weren't sure that the village's existence wasn't an elaborate practical joke.

Great place to talk to hikers or "pelgrims" on the camino to santiago. very friendly people. good place to sit down and have a beer of cold drink and enjoy the view of the surroundings and small village.

A charming little village on the Camino de Santiago, with a lively atmosphere in the summer months and especially during the festivities of the Virgin on August 15th. It's worth a short visit if you're in the area.

We're walking the Camino de Santiago from Saint-Jean-Pied-de...

We're walking the Camino de Santiago from Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port, changing hotels daily, and this one in Hontanas was the best in every way: the quality of the rooms, the cleanliness of the dinner, the friendliness and professionalism of the multilingual staff, who understood the needs of the pilgrim. Definitely recommended, an oasis. Thank you.

From what little I can say, I found the church interesting,...

From what little I can say, I found the church interesting, the washhouse is also pretty, and there are many houses that might be appealing to see. The village is very straightforward and easy to explore. I had lunch and dinner at the local restaurant, which is nearby but in a different location from the accommodation.

A wonderful little hostel, run with so much love and care.

A wonderful little hostel, run with so much love and care. Delicious food made from fresh ingredients. The three young people who run it are truly passionate about what they do. The hostel family also includes a husky named Peppino. The small town has many beautiful spots and a church that's always open.
