Meticulously clean and very comfortable. Close to a nice pizza restaurant and a couple of flights of stairs from the Camino. Note: owner might not be at home when you try the buzzer so can phone ( on WhatsApp).

The staff were so friendly and welcoming, the food was amazing, staff spoke great English and the chef explained everything he served so I understood the Spanish dishes, this has the be one of the best alberges on the comino by far. Super clean well equipped.

We stayed in Hontanas while walking the Camino de Santiago...

We stayed in Hontanas while walking the Camino de Santiago because nothing was available in Hornillos del Camino, our planned stop. The village is down in a hole, so it can't be seen until you're only a very short distance away. Walking in during heavy rain, we weren't sure that the village's existence wasn't an elaborate practical joke.

Great place to talk to hikers or "pelgrims" on the camino to santiago. very friendly people. good place to sit down and have a beer of cold drink and enjoy the view of the surroundings and small village.
